Welcome to the Charlestown Youth Soccer Association
Charlestown Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) was formed in March 2007 in order to bring soccer to the youth of Charlestown. CYSA provides over 300 registered boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 14 an opportunity to play organized soccer. Our mission is to introduce to the youth of Charlestown, Mass., the game of soccer through the development of individual skill, fitness, teamwork and fair play.

A couple of soccer updates:
1. The Charlestown BU16-1 team made it to the final four in the state championships on Sunday but lost to Sharon by 2-1 in a tightly contested semi-final match. The Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC) is a season-ending tournament that brings together age/gender group champions from participating town-based travel leagues from across the state. Each of these leagues establish their own guidelines, including league playoffs, to determine their representatives to this tournament. The leagues that participate in MTOC are: Berkshire, BAYS, Coastal, Essex, MAYS, Middlesex, Nashoba, Pioneer Valley, South Coast, and South Shore.
Thank you to all our players, coaches, referees, car-pool drivers and volunteers for helping to make this Spring season a success. We are particularly grateful to our amazing volunteer coaches who take the time to coach and share their enthusiasm for soccer with our young players. Despite the late start due to the snow, this past season was a particularly successful one for the program as we reached two major milestones in fielding our highest number of teams ever (17) in the Middlesex League and, for the second year in a row, in sending a team to the state championships.
While the season is over for most of our teams, it continues for our Boys U16 team which will represent the Middlesex league and Charlestown Soccer in the state championships - the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC) - next weekend. We are incredibly proud of Coaches Cam Labeck and Shaquille McLetchie and their team as they become our first boys team ever to go to the state championship. The team consists of Omar Ali, Clark Begley, Alfredo Ceron, Erik Depina, Jack Evans, Slater Godfrey, Liam Kennedy, Yariel Lopez, Isaac Morales, Jack Murphy, Danny Murray, Jacob Rait, Elias Sahile and Mark Williamson. They will compete as the U16 Division One Champions at the Progin Park fields in Lancaster, MA. Last season our Girls U12-1 team became our first ever team to go to MTOC.
We would also like to congratulate our Girls U12-2B team and coaches Michael Letchfield, Ed Pesce and Grant Landry for representing Charlestown Soccer this past weekend in the Commissioner’s Cup. The team enjoyed a great season and a fun, wet and muddy weekend in Woburn.
The work continues for the board as we plan for the Fall season. We are currently evaluating our teams and hope to finalize decisions around teams in July. We will also be introducing a new uniform this year.
We are looking forward to the Fall season with practices starting at the end of August. Please remember to watch the US team in the World Cup (exciting game tonight against Colombia, 8PM) and continue to practice over the Summer. Pick-up games at the field are strongly encouraged.
Enjoy the rest of the Summer and we will see you in August.
