We are pleased to announce Learn to Skate/Learn to play Hockey registration is open and will start on Saturday, November 14.
Learn to skate/Learn to play Hockey (LTS)/(LTPH) and learn to play hockey (LTPH) instruction by O'sullivan Hockey.
- Program cost is $ 200.00
- Program will Start Saturday November 14, 2015 to March 12, 2016.
- Instruction by O'sullivan Hockey Skills
- All tuition must be paid prior to taking the ice on 11/14/2014
The Program will start with the learn to skate program by stressing the fundamentals of skating while monitoring the progress of each child. When each child passes the progression of skating with a milk crate to free skating, the instructors from O'Sullivan Hockey will determine when each child is ready for the next stage of the program when a skating with a hockey stick will be introduced.
The program will follow training at 'stations' on the ice where at each station the children will be taught hockey skills with pucks.
After completing this year- long session, each child should have the confidence and basic skill set to compete at the next level of their hockey development.
Family members are obligated to outfit each child with a hockey helmet with face mask, shin guards, elbow pads, hockey gloves or winter gloves and proper fitting ice skates that are sharpened. One suggestion is wearing ski pants over shin guards to stay dry.
Equipment can be altered and added as the child progresses through the program but the basic equipment is MANDATORY for the child's safety! We suggest trying the hockey gear on at home so the child is somewhat familiar with it on. DYH always maintains a positive environment that reinforces encouragement, praise and fun!
DYH uses the trained professionals at O'Sullivan Hockey to teach this LTS-LTPH program.
