Two LL teams to be honored at Clarkstown Town Hall

We are proud to announce that on Tuesday October 25th at 8pm at Clarkstown Town Hall, we will have two teams recognized for their accomplishments by the Town of Clarkstown for their hard work and dedication and their resulting successful 2016 LL seasons.

The Nanuet Softball Majors Crimson Tide at 17-1 lost only one game all season. This regular season team faced tremendous competition all season, but they practiced well and came together as a team very well during the year. This team went on to win the Nanuet LL regular season and the Nanuet LL Playoff Championship. This win gave them to right to represent Nanuet in the Rockland County Tournament of Champions held ink Haverstraw NY. The Tide went undefeated and finished as Champions of Rockland County. Most importantly, the tournament director and opposing team manager both commented during the awards ceremony on how classy this team behaved. They represented Clarkstown extremely well and brought the TOC championship home to Clarkstown for a second straight year.

The Nanuet/West Nyack 11 year old All Star team is a team that did not play together all year but they came together through daily practices for weeks to gel as one by the time the District tournament started in July. The team was undefeated in District play versus other Rockland All Star teams, and they capped off winning the District 18 (Rockland County) Championship by defeating a very good Pearl River team.

The Nanuet/West Nyack team then went on to go undefeated in NY Section 3 (Hudson Valley) play. They won in the championship game against a very talented Monroe-Wooodbury team to take home the Section title and punch their ticket to go to the State Championship tournament in Glens Falls NY. They were the only team to go undefeated in the pool play round. Rain caused the tournament to go over a week to finalize and caused a change in venue to Fishkill NY. They one again in the semi-final round and in the championship game, they finally showed they were human in losing a close game to the champions from Long Island. This was a team they had defeated earlier, but we could not be prouder of the classy way that this team represented the town of Clarkstown and Nanuet and West Nyack Little League.
