2016 WALL BALL CHALLENGE!!

South Windsor Boys Lacrosse Wall Ball Challenge

The South Windsor Boys Lacrosse organization is introducing a Wall Ball Challenge to encourage our players to train at home.  Below are the details for the SWBL Wall Ball Challenge and, as an incentive, this challenge does have a potential reward beyond improving your stick skills drastically = an engraved hickory middie/attack or defense shaft!  However, there is a limited amount, so focus and work hard!

Juniors and Seniors will have 6 challenges with specific reps (outlined below), which each need to be completed in 1 minute.  A player must be able to achieve all 6 challenges in the allotted time per challenge to pass and be rewarded.  All players should use their gloves during the Wall ball Challenge. It helps when they are playing in games to practice with gloves on as much as possible.

Grades (5/6th) - Juniors

        -1 Handed Righty (18 reps)

        -1 Handed Lefty (18 reps)

        -Right to Right (35 reps)

        -Left to Left (35 reps)

-Catch Left split throw Right / Catch Right split throw Lefty (28 reps)

-Strong Hand Behind the Back Pass / Catch Strong hand (8 reps)

Grades (7/8th) - Seniors

        -1 Handed Righty (30 reps)

        -1 Handed Lefty (30 reps)

        -Rt to Rt (42 reps)

        -Left to Lft (42 reps)

-Catch Left split throw Right / Catch Right split throw Lefty (35 reps)

        -Strong Hand Behind-the-Back Pass / (18 reps)

We will offer test timing sessions for players ahead of select practices.  Alternatively, when a player is at home and is able to complete each challenge in the time allotted, the player can also video himself completing each stick skill and the video needs to be emailed into us.  If the video approach is chosen, there can be no stoppage in the video and to pass you must complete all 6 challenges with the number of reps completed in the 1 minute challenge / per skill. Email or for official review.

The Wall Ball Challenge will run from opening day, April 1, 2016, through the day before the 2016 CVYL Championship weekend.

IMPORTANT- Before you grab your stick each day, make sure you are getting all A's and B's in the classroom, NO C's !
