Tewksbury Youth Lacrosse Association (TYLA) is open to boys and girls in the 1st through 8th grade. The boys play in the Patriot Youth Lacrosse League (PYLL) and the girls play in the Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League (MBGLL). Both leagues are focused on skill development and fostering a passion for the game. PYLL reports scores andkeeps standings whereas MBGLL does not. The season begins with afewindoor practices in March (as available), and then we head outdoors the first week of April if the fields are open.
Games are played on Sundays and each team has 2 primary practices each week. Both the boy’s and girl’s season ends with playoffs and / or a tournament.
Placements and Tryouts
The PYLL has an A and B division for U13 and U15 age groups. TYLA will hold tryouts for the A teams depending on the number of players and teams at a given age group.
All players must be registered online and have paid the US Lacrosse fee before being allowed to participate in any placement or tryout. Tryouts may need to be held PRIOR to the December 31st registration deadline so please register as early as possible.
TYLA strives to provide the best experience for all players. The number of teams we offer is directly dependent upon the number of volunteers willing to coach a team. While we make every effort not to turn away players, we encourage you to sign up as early as possible so that we may plan accordingly.
