We are pleased to provide you with the video link to the meeting held with the Vernon Hills Park District to announce the formation of our two new youth sports organizations. We feel the meeting was very positive and well received by those in attendance. Unfortunately, the printed report that has been circulating and printed in the Vernon Hills Review contains many factual inaccuracies and presents a tone and message that is inconsistent with what actually occurred.
We invite you to watch the video and draw your own conclusion and please feel free to reach out to your sport commissioners or board members with any questions you may have. Both boards are still actively asking for volunteers for new board positions. If you are interested in participating in the continued success of our programming, please contact us for consideration. We look forward to exceeding your expectations and meeting the needs of our kids.
We would like to thank those of you that were able to attend the recent meeting between the Park District and the VHCYAA where it was announced that effective February 1st, 2015, the VHCYAA will split its operations into two newly formed entities: The Vernon Hills Community Baseball & Softball (VHCBS) and The Vernon Hills Sports Club and will be run by Bill Polisson and Jeff Wilgus respectively. We appreciate the dialog between the community members of the Park District board, the village, Bill and Jeff. We are excited about this change and the opportunity this will provide parents in the community to get involved in the future direction of these programs. We would like to encourage parents that are interested in volunteering to help run these organizations to please reach out directly to Mr. Polisson (
) and Mr. Wilgus (
). For those of you that were unable to attend we have included the full release at the below link. We would also like to remind folks that on-line registration for the Community Baseball & Softball programs are open and details can be found here on the website.
