Welcome to the home of Arlington Travel Basketball

The Arlington Travel Program is a competitive program designed for the advanced player. Arlington Travel teams participate in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (“FCYBL”) along with more than 20 other youth organizations from the northern Virginia area. FCBYL was created over 20 years ago to promote competition, athletics, and good sportsmanship. For more information on FCYBL.

The FCYBL league is run during the traditional winter basketball season. Practices start in October, and games are played from December through February.

Tryouts for Arlington Travel Basketball teams are open to all Arlington boys and girls and are held every year at the beginning of October.

Arlington Travel Basketball is separate from the county-run "house league," which is an inter-Arlington league that does not hold any tryouts. For more information on Arlington house league basketball.

ATB teams with Challenger

Running hard with team Challenger

In a continued partnership with the Challenger program, ATB and the Challengers program hosted our second practice of the 2017-18 season. Challengers team up with ATB "buddies" who will participate, side by side, in a series of drills that have the look and feel of a real practice. ATB really values teamwork.  Our Challenger events are some of the best team practices of the year.

ATB Challenger

ATB and the Challengers program had fun today. Challengers team up with ATB "buddies" who will participate, side by side, in a series of drills that have the look and feel of a real practice. About halfway through the event, the Challengers play a real game - again with their ATB buddies beside them. Coaches were impressed with all the great passing, smiles, and friendly exchanges by the parents and children at today’s event.

Adopt A Family

ATB 6th Grade Girls Adopt A Family

Thinking about others is an important trait learned as part of team sports.  The families of ATB's 6th grade girls really came through this holiday season.  They adopted a family with a 3 year old girl and 16 month old boy.  The children were hoping that Santa would be able to bring warm clothing (scarves, coats, hats) and learning toys (coloring books, reading books, puzzles, stacking items, blocks, puzzles, washable markers, dry erase board).  In addition, 12 gift cards were provided to help the community.  We are so proud of the generous hearts of our ATB families.

Adopt A Family

Tis the season for family and celebration. But not everyone is financially able to have a typical holiday season. The ATB 8th grade boys teams, coached by Marc Paisant, Kevin McIntyre, Bobby Shelley, and Joe Kouba wanted to help. They teamed up with the adopt-a-family program.  In the photo coach Paisant is dropping off presents to Fairfax County social worker Ebonie Williams. We appreciate the generous donations and caring for others exhibited by our most senior A and B boys players in the ATB program.  Way to set the tone 8th grade!

ATB Girls 5A wins the Wootten Fall Classic

Coach Michael Abundo and his hard working 5A team was able to win the 10/11U bracket of the Wootten Fall Classic.  Their closest game (26-20) came at an early 8 a.m. battle with Nova94.  They were also able to win their next 2 games to claim the champoinship.

In an endurance test and testiment to the love of basketball, Coach Larry Barr's Girls 7A played four Sunday games. The team came up just a few points short against the Burke Storm in the championship game.  No one gave a better effort that morning than Girls 7A.

Thanks to all the parents, players, coaches and even refs :) that helped make this happen.
