High School DHS Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Danbury 7pm!

We want to encourage all DSA Players to come this Friday night at 7pm to support the first Varsity Blue Wave girls soccer game under the Stadium Lights.  Freshman and JV players will be there handing out Blue Glow Sticks to the first 100 players that come through wearing their DSA blue soccer jersey.

Additionally, we would like to promote a fundraiser that they are leading with all the FCIAC girls soccer teams to support a fellow FCIAC soccer player Laci Lewis -

This past July, Laci Lewis, a 14 year old CFC soccer player and a freshman on the St. Joe’s team, went into cardiac arrest ten minutes into her CFC soccer practice at the CFC Arena in Hamden. Laci’s CFC coach, Dave Clarke, who is also the Quinnipiac’s women's soccer coach, immediately performed CPR until the ambulance came. She was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital where they lowered her body temperature and placed her in a medically induced coma to reduce her body's need for oxygen. Laci came out of the coma after 24 hours and is doing remarkably well. After much testing and weeks in the hospital, doctors found a defect in her heart, which she has had since birth but manifested as she entered puberty. Laci had surgery on August 23rd to fix the defect. She is back at school and is expected to make a full recovery to sports with time. Dave Clarke and his quick response, administering CPR right away, saved Laci’s life. Yale has said she is indeed a miracle.

Darien Girls Blue Wave Soccer Team is leading an FCIACs wide fundraiser to support Laci and CPR Awareness. We, along with all the other FCIACs teams are selling CPR SAVES LIVES #LACISTRONG bracelets and all proceeds will go to the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Cardiology Fund. The monies raised by each team will be presented by each FCIACs team captain to Laci’s family and the Yale representative at the FCIACs Girls Final on November 2nd.

Let’s make Darien proud. CPR Saves Lives! Learn for Laci!

Fall 2017 Season

Welcome to the Fall season!

This Fall we have 1500 soccer players, 250 volunteers, 20 professional coaches and dozens of our sons and daughters as referees!  Good luck with your teams.

Below are a few friendly reminders.

The DSA does not determine if fields are playable when it rains.  All field closings are decided by school or park officials.  We are simply relaying information.

Keep our fields clean.  Pick up trash if you see any and don't forget those water bottles!

Keep our sidelines friendly.  Please never speak to a youth referee in a manner that makes them feel uncomfortable.  Put yourself in their shoes.

Thanks to all of our volunteers.  Have a great season!

DSA
