Delta United SC
Notification of Merger between Delta United SC & Abbey Villa SC
June 4, 2016

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:  DELTA UNITED SC WILL BE KNOW AS AVSC DELTA

WEBSITE IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED - CHECK BACK SOON

In order for our teams to survive, flourish and continue their growth and development, I have decided to accept an offer to merge our Delta United SC teams with Abbey Villa SC.  This merger will give us long term stability financially, logistically and developmentally and provide security and peace of mind knowing we are part of a 40+ team organization with the following assets: 9 full time coaches, 3 training regions (Greater Lowell, Metro West & South County), a 14 year history of growth and success, the ability to share players via “club pass”, and the player resources to add qualified players to our existing team along with an elite supplemental coaching staff to help us reach our next level.

After careful research and consideration, I feel that Abbey Villa SC is the perfect fit for our players and families because they share the core philosophies we do as a family club.  AVSC and Delta adhere to a similar philosophy when it comes to youth soccer.  The player is the most important and comes first at all times.  The player is taught to always show respect – win, lose or draw.  The player is encouraged to reach their potential in a realistic environment where the only expectation is to give your best effort and have FUN!  Winning is not the focus but rather the end result of long term relationships and team continuity including the coaches.  AVSC is very player centric, teaching a highly technical form of possession soccer. Their intent and expectation is for each player to use all of their skills, working together with teammates, toward familiar and common goals.  AVSC strives to produce skilled, composed, creative and confident, two-footed players with superior ability to pass, receive, control, dribble, maintain possession, and shoot the ball while making quick and intelligent decisions.

So I’m sure you have a lot of questions.  I have taken the time to provide you a quick “comparison” chart below highlighting the program structure.  As you can see the AVSC program provides a significant increase in training hours.  As part of the merger, AVSC has agreed to honor all new early commitment 2016-2017 Season contracts and tuition fee structures including “per diem” contracts, special payment plans, and discounts.  There are no changes to the cost structure that players have already early committed to as part of Delta.

For those of you who did NOT make the “early commitment” already then you are invited to attend AVSC tryouts next week.  All fees will be based on AVSC plans and schedules.  Great effort will be made to KEEP as many Delta teams in tact as possible.  So if the GU17 team wishes to stay together then please be sure to make that known.

Transitioning Delta players (including Jr Academy Players) will now have so many options and opportunities available to them!  Things like Eastern Development Program & Eastern Regional League (Region 1 Champions league), Club Pass, Advanced Girls Development Program, Training with other teams for development or conflict resolution, Specialized Training like Goalkeeper Training and Speed & Agility, Skill of Strength Training and College Night (all outlined below in chart).

TRYOUTS

All transitioning Delta players and candidates will be required to use AVSC Tryout Registration.
Early committed players will receive an “invitation” to join the team right away…their tryout participation is requested and recommended.

Delta United SC Tryouts are canceled.  Instead, all tryouts will be conducted by AVSC at one of their training facilities as outlined at https://www.abbeyvillasoccer.com/soccer-tryouts-info/ .

Here is the initial link to register for tryouts: https://www.abbeyvillasoccer.com/soccer-tryouts/.
Please put DELTA in the club field to identify you as a transitioning player & tryout location will be “Greater Lowell”

Thank you for having faith in me over the years and I promise that this is nothing more than an “upgrade” for our Delta Family.

If anyone has any questions then please, please, please call me.

Thank you,

Those Delta players who are interested may be selected as part of the AGDP.  AGDP is designed for those girls who desire to take their training, play, and understanding of the game of soccer to a higher level.  AGDP's curriculum of outdoor, indoor, and classroom sessions will be used to teach and present a wide range of relevant topics to develop well rounded, self-motivated female athletes.  For more information on AGDP please visit:  https://www.abbeyvillasoccer.com/training/agdp/
