Volunteer and be Active!

As we look forward to the upcoming 2017-18 season, I wanted you to be aware of some volunteer opportunities. The EBA is an association that relies on the many talented people in our community. We have many volunteer opportunities throughout the season – from one-time activities to full year commitments. I encourage you to get involved, have some fun and support the kids! For volunteer inquiries and important enrollment dates, please go to www.edinabasketball.com.

As the 2017-18 basketball season begins, I’d like to take reflect on the past year. A big thank you go out to all e that make the EBA a fantastic program, the volunteers, coaches, parents and especially the boys and girls who are active participants. We’ve had many success stories and below are some highlights:

  • More than 1,400 boys and girls played basketball in our programs last year

  • Last year, the EBA hosted both the largest travel tournaments for both the boys and girls tournaments on consecutive weekends.

  • Had multiple traveling tournament champions (even a few state champions as well)

  • Once again showed how strong our recreational programs are by also winning in rec. leagues

  • Marched in the 4th of July parade and participated in ‘Open Streets on 50th’ Festival

  • Donating uniforms to Africa

  • Assisting in community service projects like the ‘Feeding Starving Children’ project and the DQ Free Cone Day Fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

  • Most importantly, having fun and becoming demonstrating great teamwork and becoming better basketball players and people.

The EBA is non-profit organization which is governed by a Board of Directors that meets monthly to conduct business. The times and locations are posted on the EBA website. To stay up-to-date on all EBA information, please look to the Edina Basketball Website, post photos on the Edina Basketball Facebook Page or follow us on Twitter @EdinaBasketball.
