Announcing January Open Gyms
Matrix happily announces our Open Gym schedule for Sundays during the month of January. We invite girls in Grades 3-8 to attend. These open gyms are a great opportunity for your player to get some extra skill work and scrimmage time prior to AAU tryouts. There is no cost to attend, and all interested players are welcome.
Each open gym will be led by Matrix Black (National) team coaches with support from other Matrix coaches. Each session will be structured to include a mixture of skill development and scrimmaging. We understand most players have county games on Sunday afternoons, so our objective is not to tire players out prior to game time. Nevertheless, it should be a good workout and another opportunity to get better!
Matrix Open Gym Workouts – Open to ALL Interested Players Dates: Sunday, January 8 / Sunday, January 15 / Sunday, January 22 / Sunday, January 29 Times:
What to Bring: All players should bring a basketball, and wear a reversible jersey if they have one
Coming to the Matrix Open Gym? Bring a Friend/Teammate! We strongly encourage you to pass this information along to any of your daughter’s teammates who might be interested in learning more about the Matrix program and trying out for a Matrix AAU team this spring.
These open gyms are a great opportunity for new players and their parents to meet our coaches and become familiar with our program prior to tryouts. We field multiple teams in every age group – tryouts for Spring 2017 will begin in early February!
Help Matrix Raise Funds for Nationals or Scholarships
The cost for a player participating in AAU can be quite expensive, as can the cost of a team of attending AAU Nationals or other summer tournaments.
The Matrix offers scholarships to players on a need basis as our policy is that no player should not play for financial reasons.
In addition, we want to assist our teams in their fundraising efforts to attend Nationals and other suche events.
As such, we have set up an online donation page for you to make a tax deductible donation for scholarships or to a Matrix team of your choosing; the Matrix is a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) organization.
Click here to visit the Matrix donation page for more information and to make a donation. Thank you!!!!
The MATRIX Way: This is What Matrix Basketball is All About
Before we started the 2011 AAU season, the Matrix Board of Directors felt it was important to let all current and prospective players, parents, coaches and fans know what it means to be a member of the Matrix; these principles still apply in 2017. Click here to see the fourteen items that compose The Matrix Way.
