Baseball Skills Clinic Sunday, March 23, Algonquin Regional High School Gymnasium Clinics will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM as follows:
9 yos - 9:00 to 10:40
10 yos - 10:45 to 12:25
11 yos – 12:45 to 2:25
12 yos – 2:30 to 4:00
The clinic is open to all NBSA baseball players who are baseball age 9 to 12 for spring 2014 (date of birth between May 1, 2001 and April 30, 2005). The focus of the clinic is on fundamental skills (fielding, throwing, hitting and baserunning). Clinic participants will be divided into age-appropriate groups according to the time slots above. Clinic participants must register in advance through the NBSA website at www.northborobaseball.org and should bring a baseball hat, glove, sneakers(no cleats), and bat to the clinic. The cost for this clinic is $20 per player.

On March 30th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Romaine's in Northborough will be hosting NBSA Night. They will give 15% of your check back to NBSA. The Softball Minors Division (grades 3 & 4) will use youth umpires to call the games for the Spring & Fall 2014 Softball season. There will be games in both Northboro and Southboro. NBSA is working in partnership with, Peter Travis, Certified ASA Umpire of Central Mass ASA, and would like you to consider our training program to help you become an umpire.
What you will learn in these clinics? 1. Rules of Softball 2. Plate Mechanics 3. Field Mechanics 4. Game Management 5. How to Handle Coaches and Fans 6. Proper Dress and Umpire Attire Who should attend this clinic? New umpires, softball players, baseball players, ex-ball players and previous youth umpires. This program is open for both males and females in grades 7-12, from Northboro and Southboro.
All youths interested in umpiring during the upcoming 2014 season must attend BOTH training sessions. There is no cost for this clinic and you get paid for every game you umpire!Protective equipment will be provided by the league.

Reminder: NBSA will be hosting a safety meeting on Tuesday March 25th at 7:00PM at the Northboro Library. At least one coach per team must attend, but it is recommended that all coaches attend. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.
NBSA, in cooperation with Dick’s Sporting Goods, will be hosting an appreciation day for our members on Sunday, March 9th from noon until 2:00pm. Members can get 20% off most items in store. NBSA board members will be on hand to answer questions about our programs and are happy to help you pick out equipment for your son or daughter as well. NBSA will also have sample Baseball Uniform shirts on hand, if you are not sure what size shirt your child needs, stop by the table and check out the different sizes. After midnight on 1/31/2014, a late fee of $25.00 will be added the registration total.
The Northboro/Southboro Girls Softball Spring 2014 registrations are going on NOW and will be open through March 1, 2014. It is VERY important to register on time to determine appropriate number of teams, divisions and game schedules.
•If you register NOW – January 2, 2014, a early-bird discounted of $30OFF the standard fee will be offered.
•For registrations from January 3 - January 31, 2014 the standard fee is $150.00 ($145.00 for Instructional League only)
•Registrations on or after February 1, 2014 the late fee is an additional $25.00 will be added to your total.
As you know, registrations for Spring 2014 baseball leagues are now open (softball will be opening later this fall). The first evaluations for Casey (AAA) and Major LL are this morning with a second session to be held on October 19.
As the economy continues to try to recover from the recession, we know there are many families who are going through financial difficulties.
NBSA is committed to having every boy and girl in Northborough be able to participate in our leagues and programs without regard to financial means.

Northboro Baseball Summer Tournaments
All teams are guaranteed at least one evening game under the lights (likely more) games on our beautiful, marquee Little League field (Casey Field, East Main Street).
The 12YO Tournament will be held from Sunday, July 13, 2014 to Sunday, July 20, 2014. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games during the week.
The 9YO Tournament will be held from Monday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 30. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games during the tournament.
