CONGRATULATIONS TO ROY KANE FOR BEING SELECTED 2014-15 NEW HAVEN REGISTER ALL-STATE BOYS BASKETBALL FIRST TEAM

Kane, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, was a dominant force on the inside offensively and defensively. He averaged 21.1 points, 14.4 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game while leading Norwalk to the conference tournament final.

Kane racked up 1,590 points, 1,037 rebounds and 306 assists in his career and is the school’s second all-time leading scorer behind the legendary Calvin Murphy.

 

The Fairfield County Sports Commission is presenting a free panel discussion called “Everything You Need to Know About College Sports Recruiting, but Were Afraid to Ask” on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30 pm at the Newtown Youth Academy Sports and Fitness facility, 4 Primrose Street in Newtown.
College athletics coaches and administrators comprise the expert panel, which will educate parents and student athletes on the process from making initial contact to financial aid opportunities to all questions pertaining to this key life decision.

  • Karen Pellegrino, Dean of Enrollment, Fairfield University.

NORWALK ATHLETIC REQUIREMENTS:

ALL ATHLETES HAVE TO HAVE A CURRENT (WITHIN THE PAST 12 MONTHS) PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH THE SCHOOL NURSE BEFORE TRYOUTS.  AITE STUDENTS NEED TO SUBMIT THEIR PHYSICAL TO NORWALK HIGH.  MCMAHON ATHLETES ON CO-OP TEAMS MAY TURN THEIRS IN TO THEIR SCHOOL NURSE.

ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 1.7 GPA AND BE PASSING A MINIMUM OF 4 CREDITS.
