Hello Falcon Lax Players and Parents
For those who I have not yet met my name is Matt Biello and I am the new head coach at Westwood High School. After over 20 years at Fair Lawn H S lacrosse I am excited to start building a new tradition here at Westwood. I have met many of the rec players at our shooting clinics and have been working all summer with the high school program several nights a week. We have also been planning a great camp for any youth player entering grade 2 to grade 9. We invite all of you to attend next week July 27 to July 30 at Westwood HS. I have included a flier for camp. Walk ups are welcome. If you are planning to attend as a walk please drop me an email at
. Our goal is to grow the game everywhere! We look forward to seeing you Monday at camp and look for more info soon on our next shoot around scheduled for July 30. Thanks so much and Go Cardinals and Falcons Lacrosse!

At Tonight's Council meeting at the WT Town Hall our engineer Chris Statile will be answering quesitons on the initial plan that was presented to the Council for the redesign for Memorial Field/Park.
The meeting is set for 7:30 pm. As we get closer to a vote on this important project we can use some representaton from the parents who either want to know about the plan and want to see this plan put in motion. If you are interested in seeing what the field design that was proposed or have questions about any of it or would like to voice your opinion about the field please attend the meeting and let your opinion be heard. We have all seen the field issues during this past 9 seasons that some people in the community do not feel they exist.
The field is just a piece of this project. The plan is to turn the entire complex into a Park for the entire town to enjoy for the next 30 years. The plan is for a new duel purpose turf surface for lacrosse, football, soccer, baseball, soccer, softball and various other activities. The lights are going to be replaced and brought up to current standards, the drainage issues that have plagued the complex for 30 years will finally be addressed. A walking path for all to use will be built and the facility will finally be brought up to standards for ADA (Wheel Chair) compliance and the list can go on and on.
The park needs to be brought into the 20th century and although my voice and that of the recreation programs has been your voice to this point the time has come for more people to show up at these meetings and support the idea. Even if you don't want to say anything or don't have questions becuase you believe the plan is what we need please try and attend the meeting.
