CJSA Claim Notification Form *- This is the required notification to the insurance company that a coverable event may have occurred. COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THIS FORM TO THE BOARD WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BECOMING AWARE OF ANY EVENT INVOLVING A BROOKLYN YOUTH SOCCER PARTICIPANT THAT REQUIRES MEDICAL SERVICES. CJSA Insurance Coverage Claim Form *- All PROPERLY REGISTERED players, coaches and volunteers are covered for soccer related injuries by medical insurance issued through the CJSA. Coach-Volunteer Registration Form (Fillable PDF) *- Under Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Rules, this form must be filled out by all people who wish to act as coaches, assistant coaches and any other person working with coaches, such as team parents, who have regular contact with the children.
Player-Parent Code of Conduct *- Contains rules and regulations imposed upon players and parents by both BYS and the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. CJSA "Zero Tolerance" Ref Abuse Policy *- The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association observes a "zero tolerance" referee abuse policy, which Brooklyn Youth Soccer enforces.
Northeast District "Blowout" Protocols *- A list of the game modifications that must be implemented whenever one team has a 4+ goal advantage over another. These modification are the OBLIGATION OF THE COACHES. Referees do NOT enforce this rule, but should remind coaches of the score.
Rec Soccer Game Formats and Times *- Recreational soccer IS NOT governed by the formal FIFA soccer rules (called "Laws of the Game"). The field sizes, games lengths and number of players on the field are modified depending on the ages of the kids involved per regulations and mandates imposed by US Youth Soccer and the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. THESE RULE MODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN AGREED TO AND ADOPTED BY ALL RECREATIONAL SOCCER LEAGUES BROOKLYN YOUTH SOCCER COMPETES AGAINST.
CJSA Heading and Concussion Protocols (April 2016) *- The CJSA has adopted a new rule, effective 4-1-16, that no player U11 or younger may intentionally head a ball during play. The violation will result in a direct free kick for the opposing team from the spot of the offense. Because of the mix of 11 and 12 year old players in the U12 division, the Northeast District Competition Committee, of which Brooklyn Youth Soccer is a member, has enacted this rule to prohibit the intentional heading of any ball by any player in the U12 age division or under.
