Doug Saunders - Director
Doug Saunders has been involved in baseball as a player and coach for over 40 years Recently, Doug has coached at Scottsdale Cal Ripken in 5 different divisions with multiple teams.  He was also selected to coach, along with Evan Terry, the 2013 & 2014 State 8U Tournament Team for Scottsdale Cal Ripken.  The 2014 Tournament Team won the Arizona State Championship and finished 4th in the Pacific Northwest Regional.  Doug also serves on the Board of Directors for Scottsdale Cal Ripken which has over 1000 youth participants.  On the Board, Doug serves as commissioner for the 8U Division and serves as the State Tournament Director for all tournament teams.  Doug graduated from the University of Alabama in 1992 with a degree in Russian History and Public Policy and works as an IT Director for Republic Services in Scottsdale.  He has served as an official for the National Hockey League and also worked with Mark McCumber and associates in Golf Course Design.  Other youth coaching experience includes Youth Hockey with the Coyotes Amateur Hockey Association and with various Junior Golf Clinics while working at McCumber Golf.
 




Evan Terry - Director
Evan Terry, an Arizona native has been in competitive sports all his life. Evan grew up in Arizona playing baseball in High School and College and then turned his opportunities to racquetball where he played as a nationally ranked amateur and professional. As a Country Club and Athletic Club Manager, Evan has coached and taught youth athletics for over 20 years. Most recently Evan has been involved with the Scottsdale Cal Ripken Baseball League where he has coached Tball, AA - Coach Pitch, AAA - Machine Pitch, 8U Kid Pitch Division and now in the 9/10U Minors Division. Both Evan and Doug coached the 8U Scottsdale All Stars in the summer of 2013 and 2014, winning the Arizona State title in June of 2014. Evan's vision is to ALWAYS make sports fun and challenge each child to reach their full potential.
