Schedule to be announced

Legacy Field

Legacy Field is located on New Boston Rd, between the intersection of Wallace Road and Riddle Brook School. We will be on the rectangular soccer field (not the baseball field), down the hill from the end of the road.

Swenson Field is located on Jenkins Rd between Beals Rd and the Merrimack town line. We will be utilizing the large center field between the baseball fields at the bottom of the hill from the parking lot. Please walk down the access road on the right side of the parking lot when facing the fields.

Please arrive early on the first week for players to check in and pick up your child's uniform shirt.

Format:

This program will consist of 4 weeks of a clinic style program by In The Net, followed by 2 weeks of round robin games. There will not be assigned teams for the program. The number of kids per session is limited so it will be an intimate atmosphere to work with coaches and volunteers.

What to bring:

All players will receive a uniform shirt at the first session. All equipment other can be purchased at any local or online sporting goods retailer.

Players are expected to provide their own:

  • Shorts or appropriate pants

  • Soccer socks

  • Shin guards

  • Soccer cleats

  • Ball

  • Water bottle (there is no running water at the fields)

  • Strap for eyeglasses (if worn)

  • Mouth guards (required if players have braces)

It is also highly recommended that players have:

  • Protective cup (for boys)

Ball sizes:

  • PK/K, Grade 1: 3
  • Grades 2/3, 4/5: 4
  • Grades 6-8 and High School: 5

Players with pierced earrings should remove them if possible, otherwise tape the ends for their safety.

Inclement weather:

We will attempt to hold our program if the weather is safe to do so. This means that we will be playing in damp conditions or light rain. In the event of heavy rain, standing water on the field or lightning in the area, we will cancel. We will attempt to send a cancellation announcement out via email by 3:30. We will attempt to have the announcements on the BAC Facebook page and website as well. Sessions will not be made up but if a clinic session is cancelled, we will attempt to reschedule in place of one of the end of season game weeks. Please also be aware that spring weather is unpredictable and that we may be forced to end a session prematurely if lightning or heavy rain is imminent.

Pick ups:

Players in PreKindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade 1 are expected to have a responsible adult, parent or guardian at the field at all times.

For all parents with players in the other age groups, please be sure that your child is picked up on time (6:15 or 7:45) Parents and volunteers who are helping to run this program do not want to be waiting for late parent pickups.

Our goals:

We hope that every kid who participates in the Bedford AC Rec FUNdamentals program has a chance to develop their soccer skills, make new friends and have fun playing soccer. This is supposed to be a fun and educational program, we expect that good sportsmanship will be shown by all players, spectators and volunteers.
