Laws of the Game: Misconduct Out of the View of the Referee - Law 6
Law 6 states that one of the duties of the assistant referee is to indicate when misconduct or any other incident occurs out of the view of the referee. [Watch Video]

 

Laws of the Game: Offenses When the Assistant Referee has a Better View- Law 6
Law 6 states that one of the duties of the assistant referee is to indicate when offenses have been committed whenever the assistant referee has a better view than the referee. This includes, in certain circumstances, offenses committed in the penalty area. [Watch Video]

An updated and revamped version of U.S. Soccer's Advice to Referees is now available for download. This file provides U.S. Soccer's official interpretations of the FIFA Laws of the Game. All affiliated competitions and registered officials are expected to adhere to and implement this information to the fullest extent possible.

Please note that while this information can be helpful to officials working at all levels of competition, the content is most relevant for those referees officiating competitive youth games and above. Also note that this updated is version is not currently available in Spanish or for purchase at ussoccerstore.com.
