Your DYHA Journey Begins Here...

Darien Youth Hockey Association (DYHA) is excited to announce that there is still room for the 2018-2019 hockey season for Mini Mite (2013 birth year) and Mighty Mite (2012 birth year) hockey players.

The DYHA, founded in 1973, is a community-based youth ice hockey program that attracts players of all abilities from greater Fairfield County. The Mini Mite and Mighty Mite programs are developmental in nature and meant for beginner hockey players to learn the fundamentals of skating and stick work in a fun but competitive environment.

Our Mini Mite and Mighty Mite programs are designed to work in tandem with each other.  The Mini Mite focus is on introducing the basic skills of stride, edge work for stops and turns with an introduction to stickhandling, shooting and small area games.  Mighty Mites continue to accumulate skating, stickhandling and shooting skills in a faster paced and more competitive TEAM based offering that includes small area as well as cross ice games.

Importantly, the Mini and Mighty Mites are the feeder to DYHA’s House and Travel Hockey programs which provide an opportunity for players of all abilities.  Whether your player wants to compete for a roster spot on a top level travel team or enjoy hockey as one of multiple pursuits we have the offering for him or her as they progress to squirts, peewees, bantams and midgets.

The DYHA Mini and Mighty Mite program will let your player experience the magic of hockey, the greatest game on Earth, in a challenging, fun and supportive environment during their most formative years.
