Registration for the Bradford Ski Team is October 1st through November 30th.
Please read this page in its intirety and follow the link to register at the bottom of this page.
All racers must be able to ride the ski lifts unassisted and ski the terrain at Ski Bradford (and other member mountains) with a degree of comfort and control. All Racers must be able to independently return to where their team is practicing and find their way around the mountain. BST is a learn to race program, not a learn to ski program.
BST Registration Fees
Team registration fees do not include lift tickets.
Team registration fees pay for our coaches, the Eastern Massachusetts Buddy Werner League (EMBWL) fees, Ski Bradford mountain fees, on-hill race equipment (e.g. drills, timing equipment, brushes and stubbies etc...), and all other expenses relating to practices and races. All administration and coordination of the program is done by volunteers.
Grouping of skiers is done according to the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) guidelines.
When you choose your child's age group, their group is determined by their their age as of December 31, 2017.
The age groups are divided as follows:
U19 - Ages 16, 17, and 18
U16 - Ages 14 and 15
U14 - Ages 12 and 13
U12 - Ages 10 and 11
U10 - Ages 8 and 9
U8 - Ages 7 and under
BST offers a chance for U12, U14, U16 and U19 skiers to register for the Enhanced Group. Skiers who have raced with BST for at least one year are eligible. . Skiers do not need any special race ranking or ability, just the desire for additional training and races outside the Eastern Massachusetts Buddy Werner League (EMBWL). Racers should be aware that the races and some practices occur on bigger mountains and it is necessary that skiers be able to safely ski this terrain in a controlled manner.
In order to participate, skiers must select the Enhanced U-group that corresponds to their age. BST will charge racers who choose the Enhanced Group an additional fee atop the fee associated with the regular registration for their age category. Additionally, skiers must be registered members of The United States Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) only if they intend to compete in USSA races. Visit their website (www.ussa.org) for information and USSA fees. Late fees may apply after October 15. (Racers do not need a USSA membership to join the Enhanced Group, only if they race in USSA races.)
Certain USSA , mostly Tri-State, races will be supported by BST. (See the Enhanced Group Schedule for the listings.) These races are in addition to the EMBWL schedule and do not count toward the minimum number of races required to qualify for participation in the EMBWL Championship Race at the end of the season. Transportation, entry, and ticket fees are the responsibility of the individual racer.
