Dragonheart Vermont is one of Vermont’s most dynamic 501(c)3 non-profits. We strive to provide support, hope, fitness, and camaraderie to breast cancer survivors in our community through the challenging sport of dragon boating. The organization has also expanded its team-building mission to include supporters. Both our paddling skills and our membership have grown over the years, and continue to grow. We now stand at 200 people paddling on 10 different teams, depending on age, interest, and abilities. Together, our Dragonheart Vermont teams have made their mark on this sport. We have won GOLD medals on the national and international level.
Paddling as a team is just part of the story. The core of Dragonheart’s mission is to give back to the community. The Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival gives back in two ways: it introduces people to the sport of dragon boating for fun and fitness, and it raises money to help cancer survivors in our Vermont community.
Our Dragonheart Vermont has joined with Camp Ta-Kum-Ta to be our Pledge Partner for 2017. Camp Ta-Kum-Ta is Vermont's camp for children who have or have had cancer.
Our goal this year is to raise $200,000 for Dragonheart Vermont and for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. Join us for lots of fun and the best cause of all: spreading support and joy to our local cancer survivors as they fight the toughest battle imaginable.
