VOLUNTEER COACHES REQUIRED
Potomac Field Hockey is a community based, volunteer-led program. In order to keep PFH thriving, it is important that we have parents and community members volunteer their time to help provide children a positive and fun environment to develop field hockey skills.
Often times we are faced with the problem of having more kids register than we have teams with coaches. We MUST have volunteers to continue to provide opportunities for our players to play. PLEASE consider volunteering your time to be a coach, assistant coach, or co-coach (with another parent or two)
We would be honored to have you join the PFH family. Our mission is to provide an environment where young players are guided and inspired to reach their full potential both on and off the field. We are committed to providing our community with a model of quality youth development, education, and inspiration through field hockey.
As a parent, you already know it takes all of us working together to help our children reach their full potential. We encourage all of our parents to get involved and volunteer to help out throughout the season.
Volunteer Coaches lead one team hour practice per week, attend a one-hour Skills Session once per week, and coach games on Saturdays. No prior hockey experience is necessary! We can provide training, guidance, resources, and practice plans. We LOVE hockey and promise to provide you the assistance you need while growing and learning as a coach.
Register to coach when you register your child for our programs!
Team practices will begin the week of March 27. Team practices will last for 1.5 hours with start times between 5:00 and 8:00pm depending on coach and field availability. Skills training practices will run for 5 sessions from March 30 until April 27.

Regular season games will run until Saturday May 20 and the season will conclude on Saturday June 3 for the PFH Annual Fun Fest for all PFH teams. Fun Fest is a fun, tournament-style play day and will include pot luck tables and fun contests.
* No games on April 8 or 15 due to Spring Break
Teams are determined by the grade of the player for the academic school year. 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th grade players are teamed together. Teams are created in priority of current school, high school cluster, then combining clusters together to make appropriately sizes teams. Teams vary in size from 9 to 13 players for 7v7 play. Players registered after teaming has been done will be placed where space exists.
