(Important) Pre-Season Coach Registration Process

There are a number of steps you need to take to be allowed to meet with kids or serve in an official capacity for HSC.  Some are required by Massachusetts, others are required by state soccer and the league (MYSA/NVYSL), and others are required by our local club.  This applies to coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and various club staff.  Some of these steps only apply for those that are part of the travel program with NVYSL, and those are marked as such below.

Final clearance is by the HSC registrar (Jin Qian, email address qianjinttv at gmail.com).  Please make sure you follow the instructions below before the first practice session of the season to avoid being left off team roster or not being able to meet with the kids.

  1. (All) MYSA Adult registration and CORI application online, once every 3 years.  Login to your MYSA account to check CORI status often to make sure it is approved. Print the CORI Acknowledge Form for final step (5).
  2. (All) HSC Coaches Safety Pledge - HSC document describing the coach's basic safety responsibilities. Once a school year. Email signed document to HSC registrar.
  3. (NVYSL travel teams only) NVYSL Coaches Pledge - NVYSL document describing the coach's required knowledge of rules and policies.  Once a school year. Email signed document to HSC registrar.
  4. (All) Concussion Certificate - Once as an HSC member. Email Concussion Certificate to HSC registrar.
  5. (All) CORI Verification - See HSC registrar in person, bring MYSA CORI Acknowledge Form printout from step (1) and a Photo-ID. This step is called CORI Verification (not CORI application). CORI Verification only needs to be done once as long as you are a member of HSC (Harvard Soccer Club).
