OPTIMIST SAILING PROGRAM - 2018
Open to sailors 8–15 years of age.  Four levels of instruction are offered ranging from basic sailing fundamentals through advanced racing technique. The program is offered in two 3-week sessions as listed. In addition there 1-week clinics offered as booster in the morning and free style sailing in the afternoon.  These clinics are designed as add-ons for those registered in either Session 1 or Session 2 during the season.

For the seasoned sailors, the Regatta Squad prepares racers for the full circuit of sanctioned regattas offered by the Junior Sailing Association of LI Sound. Since the focus of the Regatta Squad is racing, the program is offered in two sessions; a 3-week and a 4-week session in the afternoons only. Preparation includes scrimmages with local clubs throughout the summer during the first session, and the competitive regattas during the second session. DJST participates in interclub scrimmages with local yacht clubs in a friendly competitive environment.

CLUB 420 PROGRAM - 2018

The Club 420 instruction will be offered to sailors 13 years and older, and those who have demonstrated proficiency in racing. The program will take place in the afternoons. The boat is more complex, and every effort will be made to introduce each sailor to the roles of both skipper and crew, as well as develop a comfort level in sailing.
