AA baseball is open for ages 6-14 year olds. Age is determined on May 1, 2018 . It is permissible for a player to play up one age level (based on experience, grade, etc) however, no player can play down.
Age Cutoff Date for Baseball
Prior to the 2006 baseball season, the AYL adopted an age cutoff change being implemented by all youth baseball organizations. The age cutoff date for AYL is May 1st.
The AYL 2018 AA season, will consist of 14 league games, with a double elimination playoff, for a minimum of 16 games played April through late June. League games will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning mid April and will be concluded by late June. Teams will play no more than 3 games per week during the 11 week season. League games will not be scheduled on Easter Sunday or Memorial Day weekend. Playoffs are tentatively scheduled to begin the 1st week in June.
In the AA American Division only, teams will be allowed 2 no play weekends (Friday - Sunday, not to exceed 6 days) to allow them to participate in a few tournaments throughout the year. However, teams playing in this division may be required to play a few weeknight games to allow for this.
At the conclusion of the 14 league games, ALL TEAMS will be seeded for the double elimination playoffs. Teams will play until they have lost two games.
Playoff games will begin approximately the first week in June with the World Series played in late June. If necessary, the week after the World Series is being held for make-up playoff games. The World Series will be a single game championship game. Therefore, the undefeated team representing the winner’s bracket in the World Series game does not need to lose twice to be eliminated. COSTS/REGISTRATION:
All Players need to be registered by February 1st, 2018. Fees are $310.00 and do not include uniform. Please register early to avoid placement issues.
