There is no time that it is too late to get your child involved with ice hockey. There are several programs to get your child on a track towards playing hockey. Skating is an integral part of hockey, so the “Learn To Skate” program is your child’s first stop. At that point the coaches and instructors will guide your child into successive programs leading toward his or her first hockey team!
Another point to remember is that it is not too late to begin if you missed the initial sign up dates. We work hard to incorporate anyone into our programs at a pro rated cost to get your child under way.
If your child has previous skating experience feel free to contact NIHA or the arena for guidance as to what program your child needs to be enrolled.
Again, full equipment is needed for hockey classes, but learn to skate only requires :
Helmet (current expiration certification sticker on helmet is required) Elbow Pads Shin Guards Skates Gloves Mouth guard Sweat pants
Loaner equipment if available can also be provided. NIHA is uniquely positioned to keep your costs associated with your child’s hockey low.
