Identify a series of progressively challenging skills for the players to attempt.
Provide coaches with a simple model to encourage players to develop fundamental soccer skills.
Provide some direction for parents and players when practicing outside of the regularly scheduled team/group practices.

To engage players and coaches in a fun and challenging activity.
About the Skills Challenge Pyramid™
The features of the Skills Challenge Pyramid™ include:
There are 5 Pyramids (Plus 1 – 5).
Each pyramid has a series of 10 skills.
A Pyramid consists of 4 ‘Tiers’
Tier 4 – Fundamentals
Tier 3 – Intermediate
Tier 2 – Advanced
Tier 1 - Master
Activities are numbered 1-10. Activity number 1 is regarded as the easiest skill to learn in the Pyramid and number 10 is regarded as the most difficult.
The top three activities of the Plus 1 Pyramid (Tiers 1 & 2) form the first three activities of the Plus 2 Pyramid (Tier 4). This relationship continues for the Plus 2-5 Pyramids.
A simple evaluation system is incorporated for each activity:
Below expectation – movements are awkward and uneven, there is little consistency between two or more attempts and the skill is performed below game speed.
At expectation – At least 50% or more of the attempts are completed in one smooth movement, are at game speed and appear to be natural (second nature and free flowing).
Above expectation – At least 90% or more of the attempts are completed in one smooth movement, are at game speed and appear to be natural (second nature and free flowing).
