Sno-King 8U Major Hockey

In the 8U Major division SnoKing offers the following 2 levels of hockey

Recreational / "C" Teams

Sno-King offers recreational hockey teams where all registered players are evaluated and put on teams with the goal of having approximately equal teams at a given arena.

These teams play cross-ice games against Sno-King teams and teams from other associations in the Seattle area.

8U Major Development Program

The goal of the 8U Major Development program is to prepare our older 8U Major players to play at the 10U rep level next season or to excel at the 10U Recreation level.

We do this by giving them additional ice time where they play with the top end caliber players. The majority of the ice time is allocated to 3x3 or 4x4 games on the small ice where the players will get lots of puck touch time and oodles of ice time skating at a faster speed than they normally would during 8U Major games. The goalies get lots of shots in this format also.

The program also puts a group of players into a tournament or two as well as playing some exhibition games against other association’s teams during the season against similarly skilled opposition.

This group is meant to be more inclusive than a regular team with a core group of players and the opportunity for other 8U players to participate on a part time basis.

Check back here for more information on our 8U Major Developmental Program once the season is underway.

The Program invitations will be sent out to select 8u Major players based on 8U Major coaches feedback, overall ratings and skills at the September evaluations, due to the limited number of positions available.
