Sno-King 14U Hockey

2018 Tryout Information:

Tryouts for the 14U Select teams will begin on August 23rd with cross-ice games and off-ice testing.

Regardless of what team you are trying to make, all players should attend the first day of testing for the off-ice testing portion. These results will be used throughout the A2 and A3 tryouts. All players are encouraged to participate in the cross-ice games on the first day but it is not required if you only plan on trying out for the A3 teams.

After the first session in each tryout the head coach will notify players as to which session they should attend next, whether that is continuing with current tryout or moving onto the next team.

Parent Meetings will occur at the first session for each team.

14U General Information

In the 14U division Sno-King offers the following 2 levels of hockey programs.

Select A2/A3 Teams

These are the next level of hockey and consist of players that can't make the committment to the top teams or who are working to make those teams.

These teams typically play in either the Pacific Coast Leage (PCAHA) or the Washington State PNAHA league and compete in the State championships with the goal of going to USA Hockey Tier II Championships.

Visit here for more information.

Recreational/"C" Teams

SnoKing offers recreational hockey teams where all registered players are evaluated and put on teams with the goal of having approximately equal teams.

These teams play against teams from other associations in the Seattle area in the Metro Hockey League (MHL).

Visit here for more information.

Recreational/"C" Development Teams

If there is enough interest SnoKing will create a Recreational / C Dev team.

The Dev teams are a great opportunity for the motivated recreational player interested in getting additional ice time and working on more advanced skills and systems than can be worked on with their C teams.

If possible, this team will participate in the PNAHA State B tournament at the end of the year.

Checking Clinics

In order to prepare our players for checking hockey, checking clinics are offered during the summer.  It is strongly encouraged that players take one of these clinics before trying out for a Select team.

Sno-King offers checking clinics during the spring / summer and will have checking sessions for C players at the beginning of the season.

Check out the Camps and Clinics pages for details on when clinics are offered.

PNAHA Development Camps

At the 14u and older divisions PNAHA holds a Select Player Camp during one weekend near the end of January.

This camp is used to select the top players from the state who will progress to the Pacific District Select Camp and then to the USA Hockey National Camp.

The coaches, divsional reps and hockey director will make recommendations as to who should attend this camp. Typically we have our Elite A1 teams players and our top Tier II players attend this camp.

Watch www.PNAHA.com for details on this years' camp.

Spring / Summer Camps, Clinics, Training, Leagues

Sno-King offers many in season and Spring/Summer Camps, Clinics, Training and Leagues. Check the Camps and Clinics page for details.

High School Hockey

In the spring Sno-King runs a High School Hockey league. Players that are in grade 9 through grade 12 may try out for one of these teams.

See the High School Hockey page for details.
