Spring is just around the corner and so is Opening Day. Soon enough the crack of the bat, the pop of a catcher’s mitt, or the cheering of parents and teammates for the big home run will be heard. None of that can happen without umpires. I am looking forward to another great baseball season and am pleased by how many umpires return from year to year and the number of others who enter the program for the first time. I hope this year finds a similar trend and continued success is seen on the field.
While I am looking forward to hearing from some of the “veterans” who wish to return, I am still signing up the “rookies” who will wear the mask for the first time and yell, “Strike Three”. If anyone knows someone interested in umpiring, encourage them to do it. You know how exciting and fun it can be.
To apply to be an umpire, please click on the link below and complete all information clearly and accurately.
Much of the umpire information will be sent by email and texts so please make sure to update me if there is a change to any of your contact information. The Umpire Clinics will be soon scheduled and the location will be posted on the website when the location is established. The Umpire Clinics will be held Sundays in March and April. There will be 3 classes like previous seasons. The first 2 clinics will be in a class environment setting and the final meeting will entail an outdoor clinic on one of the Sacred Heart fields. All clinics are mandatory. Attendance is taken at each clinic and absences without prior notification will impact the number of games each umpire is assigned.
The date and times of umpire assignments will be given out when we finalize the schedule.
Thank you for your willingness to umpire and I look forward to another successful year.
