On behalf of the Boch Blazers Hockey program, thank you for a great 2013-14 season.  The Charles River girls bring a consistent level of energy and effort to the Boch Ice Center every week!   Our skills instructors enjoyed working with the girls noting that they were always willing to listen and learn.  Some League Directors also went out of their way to let us know that our program stood out as one to watch.   This season we sent a record number of teams to States and Nationals and we look forward to an even stronger 2014-15 as we celebrate the 17th anniversary of the girls program.

Tryouts are fast approaching and we are planning to field up to ten teams between the U10 and U19 levels.  Our practice and skills program will continue to focus on age appropriate skill development applying key American Development Model (ADM) concepts and we will continue to compete in the nation’s best New England Girls Hockey League.  As we look forward to next season, we are pleased to announce the following teams and coaching staff:

Our full season teams receive two weekly practices September through the MA State Tournament in March.  They will also attend weekly skills sessions through the end of the NEGHL regular season.

We will play the full Fall and Winter NEGHL game schedule including all home games at the Boch Ice Center in Dedham. All full season teams will play in the Charles River Blazers 2015 Presidents’ Day Tournament.

Players receive Five summer skills sessions to use at their discretion.
Head coaches will receive and schedule Four team summer skates.
Players receive practice jersey, practice socks and game socks.

What is included in the U14 Blue Major High School (HS) split season package?
The purpose of this team is to provide players that are planning to attend high school tryouts with the best preparation possible.  For the fall season this team will operate like a full season team with two weekly practices and one weekly skills session.  Due to the importance of off-ice training in preparing for the increased physical demands of High School hockey, an off-ice program will be created around this team during the fall season to prepare each player for November tryouts while also focusing on long-term injury prevention.

Players will be required to commit to full Fall and Winter season NEGHL game schedules through the MA State Tournament in March.  All home games will be played on Sundays at the Boch Ice Center in Dedham.  Depending on interest/availability, this team may decide to extend their off-ice program/practice schedule beyond the Fall season for an additional fee per player.  We have configured this team based on feedback that most players will have demanding high school Varsity or JV schedules during the winter season and may prefer to play a single club game on Sundays allowing for much needed rest and increased time to focus on their academic work load.

Players receive Five summer skills sessions to use at their discretion.
Head coaches will receive and schedule Four team summer skates.
Players receive practice jersey, practice socks and game socks.

What is included in the U16 & U19 Half Season Team package? (Sept. to Nov.)
Teams will practice weekly on Sunday morning through November up to MA State Tournament.

Additional Costs to Participant?
New players will be responsible for purchasing a set of home and away jerseys (estimated cost of $125).  First choice of jersey numbers will go to returning players. As noted above, U16-1 and U19 -1 may utilize team jerseys that will remain property of the Blazers program.

How many players will be on each team?
All teams will roster between 9 - 12 forwards, 4-6 defensemen, up to 2 goalies.  Alternate slots will also be available as needed by each team.
