Dear Sno-King 8u (Mite) Families

The 2015-2016 season is fast approaching! We hope you have been enjoying the fantastic summer weather!

We will follow the USA Hockey ADM model and its philosophies. 8U Minor will play in-house games. 8U Major will also play in-house games, and compete in the NPSHLAll Learn to Play, 8U Minor and 8U Major will be using the station practice format, which is proven to develop skills, improve conditioning and increase activity. The 8U division focuses on 3 things: skating, stickhandling and FUN! Having fun increases passion at this age and keeps kids engaged!

Our coaches are committed to being a positive influence in the lives of our kids by following the Positive Coaching Alliance principles, as well as learning all the latest player development techniques directly from USA Hockey as part of our ADM model club appointment. Coaches and volunteers will be certified by USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program (CEP) and SafeSport online class as part of our ongoing player safety education.

If you have any questions about the upcoming season do not hesitate to contact us or check out our website at www.snokinghockey.com for more information.

All 8u Players
Optional free scrimmages on August 29th and 30th and September 5th and 6th weekend to prepare for 8u Evaluations. As these are optional, it's okay if you are out of town.

When you registered your player, you indicated the "Rink Preference" of Renton, Kirkland or N/A.

Please attend the evaluations marked "all" or by last name, at the Arena that you indicated, as per the schedule below.
After September 19th evaluation players will be placed onto an 8u Minor or 8u Major team. You will be notified by email from the coaches or the association that weekend.
After September 19th your player will only attend the 8U Minor or 8U Major ice times depending on his or her assigned group.
Teams will most likely continue to form on the week of September 21st.
Regular practices will begin the week of September 21st.

Game schedules will be published late September.

8u Evaluations
8u Minor and 8u Major will be evaluated according to age and ability. We will have 8U Minor teams and 8U Major teams at Sno-King Kirkland Arena and Sno-King Renton Ice Arena depending on the amount of players that register.

We are also going to begin with some FREE scrimmages for those who are in town on August 29th and 30th and September 5th and 6th. We are planning on hosting an ADM informational session with the USA Hockey experts on Monday, September 14th.

PLEASE ATTEND ALL 8U EVALUATIONS SO WE CAN PUT YOUR PLAYER ON THE APPROPRIATE TEAM!
EQUAL TEAMS ARE OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
