The next full program is in the Fall of 2015.  Registration opens in April 2015 with the season starting in early September and running through mid-November.

LYV Middle School Boys Division (4th-8th graders)

  • All boys will receive instruction in a combination of clinic-based setting and individual team practices. Their competitive opportunities will include other boys teams and girls teams at their skill level.
  • Games will be in locations around Loudoun County.
  • We do our best to balance the teams to maintain parity and encourage a safe and competitive learning environment within each Division (5/6, House, Open).
  • Experienced volleyball instructors and coaches run all clinics.
  • At the end of the season, playoffs are held to determine season champions.
  • The more teams we have, the better the competition can be right here in Loudoun for our elementary and middle school age players.
  • During registration, players should indicate any conflicts and our schedulers will try their best to accommodate.
  • There is some flexibility for boys to play up and requests will be addressed on a case by case basis.

LYV High School Boys Division

  • ALL High School age participants will be placed on a team.
  • All registrants will be placed on a team based in one of the Loudoun County High Schools.
  • Matches will be organized and played as a part of the Northern Virginia High School Boys Volleyball League which has inter-league play from late September through early November. NVHSBVL teams come from Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.
  • Historically all LYV High School matches take place in Loudoun County schools or at the Virginia Volleyball Center.
  • Players newer to the game will receive instruction in a WEEKLY clinic based setting from LYV volleyball coaches in an effort to bridge the gap between our recreational players and the boys who have more experience.
  • All players will have one team practice a week and one multi-team, skill development/clinic style practice focusing on basics and position specific instruction.
  • More experienced/club players will use the clinic based instructional practice time to scrimmage and do more advanced drills and skills in a separate gym.
  • The High School season will commence with a league wide, all day NVHSBVL tournament at the Virginia Volleyball Center in mid-November.
  • There will not be a skills assessment for this Division and players little or no experience will be contacted prior to the start of the season.

Player Commitment

  • The commitment level is intended to be student-friendly and multi-sport friendly.
  • Middle School Division teams will have two practices on weekdays for 1.5 hours each between 6:30-9:30pm at local area school gyms.
  • Middle School Division teams will play 1-2 (3 set) matches for one hour each week on Saturdays at Loudoun County school gyms.
  • High School teams will have 2 practices per week for 1.5 hours between 6:30-9:30pm at local area school gyms.
  • High School teams will play 1-2 (best of 3 set) matches on either Saturday or Sunday afternoons/early evenings.
  • The day, time, and location of team practices are determined by coaches and LYV officials.
  • During registration, players should indicate any conflicts and our schedulers will try their best to accommodate.
