Registration is NOW OPEN for the Herndon-Reston Youth Lacrosse (HRYL) Boys and Girls Fall Leagues and Clinics!

The HRYL fall house programs are open to players of all levels. This is a great opportunity for new, beginning players who want to learn and tryout the sport with only a one day per week commitment. Returning and experienced players can continue to enhance and refine their lacrosse skills through the learning style format.

Boys Little Lax (ages 4-7) 
- Dates: Saturdays - Sep 19, Sep 26, Oct 3, Oct 10, Oct 17, Oct 24​
- Time: 8:30 am to 10:00 am
- Location: South Lakes Drive Park

Boys U-9 and U-11 Fall House League (age as of 8/31/2015)
- Dates: Saturdays - Sep 12, Sep 19, Sep 26, Oct 3, Oct 17, Oct 24 (No session on Oct 10)
- Time: 9:30 am to 11:00 am
- Location: Herndon Middle School fields

Girls Little Lax (grades pre-K and K)
- Dates: Saturdays - Sep 19, Sep 26, Oct 3, Oct 10, Oct 24, Oct 31 (No session on Oct 17)
- Time: 9:00 am to 10:00 am
- Location: South Lakes Drive Park

Girls Grades K/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 Fall Development Clinics

HRYL Girls - Fall Options

I hope everyone is having a nice summer so far. It is hard to believe, but it is time to think about your daughter's fall activities. There are a variety of lacrosse options listed below to consider. For some, I will ask you to reply with your interest.

HRYL Fall Development Clinics - There will be six Saturday afternoon sessions (Sep and Oct) at Herndon Middle School for girls in grades pre-K/K, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8, all skill levels. This is our most popular fall opportunity. Confirmed dates and registration info will be sent out soon.

McLean Fall League - Eight games are typically scheduled on Sundays with some on Saturday evenings in Sep and Oct. This is a fun 7v7 outdoor box league with no playoffs. HRYL is planning to field teams in the Girls grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 divisions. Only players with at least one year of playing experience is recommended. Confirmed dates and registration info will be sent out around mid-August. PLEASE REPLY to confirm your daughter's interest.

 

FALL TOURNAMENTS (HRYL Teams)

Great Pumpkin Shootout - Sat, Oct 24 - A fun, yet competitive, 9v9 format tournament at Morven Park, Leesburg. HRYL is planning to field teams in the Girls grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 divisions Only players with at least one year of playing experience is recommended. PLEASE REPLY to confirm your daughter's interest.

FallBall Lacrosse Tournament - Sat, Nov 7 - A competitive (travel level) tournament at St. Paul's School for Girls in Brooklandville, MD. HRYL hopes to field teams for girls in grades 5 (2023) to 9 (2019). Players with intermediate to advanced skills are encourged to participate. PLEASE REPLY to confirm your daughter's interest.

Fairfax Fall Brawl - Nov 28-29 - A fun, yet highly competitive, 7v7 format tournament at WT Woodson HS, Fairfax. HRYL is planning to field teams in the Girls grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 divisions. Only players with at least one year of playing experience is recommended. PLEASE REPLY to confirm your daughter's interest.

 

GIRLS TRAVEL (TOURNAMENT) CLUBS  - Most of the area travel clubs are holding tryouts in August to field teams for the Fall 2015 and Summer 2016 seasons. Below is the tryouts schedule (earliest date first) for most of the Northern Virginia based clubs. Please confirm the exact date and time on each club's website (links also provided below) as they may vary by grade.There are HRYL players on a number of these clubs, so let me know if you need references for or additional information about a particular organization.

NVYLL Girls G34LB Champions!

The Tornado Girls win the NVYLL 2015 Girls G34LB Championship with an 8-7 victory over Stafford at McLean HS.

Boys U15LB Win NVYLL Bracket Title!

The HRYL Boys U15LB team won their NVYLL playoff bracket title with a win over Chantilly at South Run #5. Here is the team celebrating with their medals at Silver Diner. Congratulations!

Kelly Mathews Commits to Boston University

Kelly Mathews, a 7-year product of Herndon-Reston Youth Lacrosse (HRYL) and junior for Bishop Ireton High School, signed her National Letter of Intent on November 12, 2014 to play NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse for Boston University.  She first learned to love the game and master skills under the HRYL program starting in 2005. Congratulations to Kelly!
