MONDAY NIGHT GOALIE CLINIC AT 

THE GARDEN ICE ARENA

A clinic for  Mite (U8)- High School aged goalies for all skill levels and abilities to work on positioning, technique, movement and game-like situations.

      (6) Mondays in AUgust/September 7-8 pm (8/9, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27, 9/10, 9/17)

 

PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Goalies divided into groups by skill level and ability
  • Powerskating and stamina drills geared for goalies in preparation for upcoming hockey season.
  • Technical breakdown of each goalie's stance
  • Position and movement drills in and around the crease
  • Teaching goalies to come out of the net to challenge shooter
  • Puck drills for goalies to get more comfortable playing the puck
  • Plenty of shots to challenge any skill level of goalie

Freeze Hockey

 

 

WHAT IS FREEZE HOCKEY?

 

1. Freeze Hockey is a House B hockey program that play games against other hockey

associations in the West Michigan area.

 

2. Freeze is not a ‘travel’ team. We travel to other rinks to play, but we are not a travel team in the sense that there are no tryouts. Our program adheres to all MAHA (Michigan Amateur Hockey Association) House B rules.

 

3. In accordance with the House B rules, teams will be filled on a consecutive sign up basis (first come, first serve) Team sizes are limited in accordance with BAHA bylaws.

 

WHAT AGES CAN PLAY FREEZE HOCKEY?

We have Freeze teams at the Squirt (U10), Peewee(U12) and Bantam(U14) levels.

 

HOW MUCH TIME IS INVOLVED?

1. Sept – Mid October the teams practice 2 evenings a week at The Garden ice rink in Stevensville.

 

2. Mid October - Mid March the teams practice 3 days a week and generally play 2 games a weekend. There are times that the team may play 3 games in a weekend.

 

3. The teams begin playing games in early October.

 

4. Home games are played at The Garden ice rink in Stevensville and at Howard Ice Arena in St. Joseph. Approximately 13 or more games will be played out of town. Possible opponents are from Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Rockford, Battle Creek, Big Rapids, Cadillac, Ludington, Traverse City.

 

5. The teams generally participate in 2-3 out of town tournaments a season, which involves playing 4-5 games in a weekend, and usually a one or two overnight stays.

 

HOW MUCH IS DOES THE FREEZE PROGRAM COST?

U10 Squirts (2008-2009)    $1,085

U12 Peewees (2006-2007) $1,225

U14 Bantams (2004-2005) $1,425

 

 

This year we are offering three payment options again. The first option is to pay one payment, in full. If you choose this option you will receive a small discount. The second option is to make 5 payments. The third option is to make 7 payments. The seven payment option will come with a small added cost due to the expense of processing the extra payments. Everyone starts with the $300.00 deposit.

NOT INCLUDED IN THESE FEES: jerseys, warm ups, hotel or travel expenses. Returning players are not required to purchase new jerseys or warm-ups.
