The purpose of the Methuen Youth Hockey Association is to promote the development of character and good sportsmanship in the youth of Methuen through hockey, to promote the game of hockey, and to hold and arrange hockey games.

MYHA Fundraiser - Night with Jim Plunkett

Our big fundraiser this year is a 21+ night out with singer/ entertainer Jim Plunkett. Jim has been performing in and around Boston and Cape Cod for decades. 

Join us at the Reliefs In located at 1 Market St in Lawrence on Friday, November 30th. Doors open at 6:30pm. Limited tickets are available now during our pre-sale for $20.00 (tickets go on sale to the general public beginning 11/1). Bring your friends, bring some snacks and join the fun, as this will be a night you won’t want to miss! Cash bar available.

Open Programs


Methuen Youth Hockey Association is excited to announce that it will be holding its Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey clinics – (weather permitting) on Saturday mornings as follows:


When:     Option 1 - December 1, 2018 - March 2, 2019 | Option 2 - January 5, 2019 – March 2, 2019

Where:    Methuen High School Rink (1 Ranger Road, Methuen, MA)

Cost:        Option 1 - $85/ Option 2 - $75


These introductory clinics are a great opportunity for boys and girls (ages 4 – 10) to have fun learning to skate.  Skaters will attend one hour each week according to their skill level.  Clinics are open to any skater not currently on a MYHA team roster and you do not need to be a Methuen Resident to participate. MYHA reserves the right to cap registrations as necessary and attendance is NOT mandatory.

  • Learn to Skate (LTS) - Saturdays from 8:30am – 9:30 am.  This program is designed for beginner and intermediate skaters. USA Hockey certified instructors will teach the fundamentals of ice skating in a fun-filled atmosphere with supervised instruction. Previous skating experience is not required. You will be amazed at how quickly they are skating on their own!
    • Learn to Skate Participation Requirements:
      • HECC-approved helmet (w/full cage) and ice skates
      • Additionally, we recommend elbow pads, shin pads and warm gloves
      • 2018-2019 USA Hockey Registration (
  • Learn to Play Hockey (LTP) - Saturdays from 8:30am – 9:30am. For children who have completed a Learn to Skate program, LTP offers a program for children interested in learning the game of hockey. Instructors will teach more advanced skating, along with introductory puck-handling techniques and children will participate in small areas games to help reinforce these techniques.

*Subject to time change 9:40am – 10:40am if enrollment number warrant more space on the ice.

To register with USA Hockey, please visit  There is no fee when you register if your child was born in 2012 or later.  However, if your child was born in 2011 and earlier, you will pay a non-refundable fee of $48.  Once you have your child’s USA hockey registration number, you’ll be required to add this to your skater’s profile on  No child can participate until a USA Hockey Registration is obtained.
