Minors 9-11 All Stars

July 6 -

The 11s had a strong showing against Cherry Creek.  They got an early lead and expanded it throughout the game. In the end, KCLL won 12-4 with strong hitting and a fabulous pitching performance by Gabe G.

July 7 -

The 11s bats stayed lively putting up 7 runs against a very strong Colorado Springs team. Some good defense and tough pitching kept the Springs team to just 4 runs.  The final was KCLL 7 and Colorado Springs 4.  KCLL's next game will determine one of the two teams in the finals!!

July 8 -

KCLL took an early lead through the first two innings. As the game progressed, the Academy defense was outstanding the KCLL defense became shaky. Errors resulted in too many runs scored and Academy took the day, 18-8.

July 9 -

KCLL faced Cherry Creek in an elimination game where the winner got to face Academy for a chance to win the championship.  KCLL picked up 3 runs in the top of the first and completed a double play to hold Cherry Creek without scoring. In the 2nd, the KCLL bats came to life and put up 8 runs, forcing Cherry Creek to put in their top pitcher in an effort to survive the elimiantion threat. For the rest of the game, the Cherry Creek pitcher kept the KCLL bats silent while Cherry Creek battle back. But Gabe M came into the game late in the 5th inning and pitched through the end to help KCLL hold onto a 11-9 victory.

July 10 -

KCLL surrendered early runs and eventually fell behind 5-0 by the third inning. KCLL finally broke through with a run, but then gave up a run in the folllowing half inning.  Entering the top of the 6th, the score was 6-1 in favor of Academy.  KCLL battled the bases loaded and began to push runs across.  With 2 outs, the bases loaded, and the score 6-5, the Academy pitching earned a final strike out to win the game.

Minors 8-10 All Stars

Thu, Jul 5 -

After a rain delay, the 10s All Stars got off to a monster start. Cash B shut down Colorado Springs in the top of the first and then the offense scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Ocean C came in to pitch during the 2nd inning - Colorado Springs broke through for 2 runs. KCLL got one run back in the bottom of the 2nd to hold a 5-2 lead.

After Co Springs narrowed the deficit to 5-4 in the top of the third, both teams traded half innings of scoreless baseball - Jack U pitiching the end of the third and into the fourth.

Then the rains came in the form of an 8-run 4th inning by KCLL putting the game on the brink with a 9 run lead - KCLL up 13-4.

Tri N pitched a scoreless top of the 5th - three up, three down - and then hit a triple to start off the bottom of the 5th. Haeden M grounded out, but got the game-ending RBI as Tri scored and secured a 10-run mercy rule win (5 innings) over Colorado Springs.

FINAL:  Ken Caryl 14 - Colorado Springs 4

Fri, Jul 6 -

It was a virtual hit parade for the 10s, who put up 11 runs in the 2nd inning.  They went on to win the game 26-17.

Sun, Jul 8 -

In a back-and-forth game, Tri Lakes took the early 2-0 lead in the first and then KCLL tied it up in the second. Tri Lakes got another run in the third that held until the bottom of the sixth when KCLL scratched out a run to tie the game. Tri Lakes put up 2 runs in the top of the seventh, but battling on a 1-2 count, Cash B hit a walk-off double to score the winning run and send KCLL to the championship game in undefeated fashion.  KCLL won 6-5 in 7 innings.

Mon, Jul 10 -

In a hard fought and tense game, pitching and defense count for everything. KCLL took the early lead in the 2nd inning by putting up a run. Tri Lakes tied it in the top of the 3rd, but KCLL answered with another run to keep the lead after 3 innings.  They added two insurance runs in the bottom of the 5th. Meanwhile, the pitching combination of Cash B and Tri N was too much for Colorado Springs.  KCLL won the game 4-1 and earned the title of COLORADO DISTRICT 5 CHAMPIONS!!

NEXT GAME:  Saturday, Jul 14  - Time and Opponent TBD @ Mission Viejo fields

Little League All Stars

July 6 -

KCLL took and early lead, but Araphoe contineued to come back.  Eventually the game ended up tied after 6 innings and it took extra innings to resolve the game.  KCLL gave up 4 runs in the top of the inning and could only muster 1 in the bottom of the inning.  KCLL lost 10-7 to Arapahoe.  KCLL will next play on Sunday at 10:00a.

July 8 -

After a day off, KCLL got a chance to demonstrate their mettle as they took on Cherry Creek in the first elimination game.  KCLL jumped to an early lead and continued to dominate, eventually beating Cherry Creek 17-6.

July 9 -

Redemption is what KCLL was after. Having taken a tough loss to Arapahoe in the first game, they now met Arapahoe again in an elimination game. This time, KCLL scored 3 early runs in the 1st inning and then never reliquinshed the lead. KCLL defeated Arapahoe 13-7.

July 10 -

KCLL continued their impressive string of victories by beating Colorado Springs 13-5. A dominating pitching performance of Brock N with 7 strike outs over 5 innings led the way as the offense put up 4 runs in the first and never looked back, piling on runs in both the 4th and 5th innings.

July 11 -

KCLL gave up two runs in first but came back with one run in the second and another in third to create a tie score, 2-2.  Academy added runs in the fourth and fifth inning and entered the 6th inning with an 8-2 lead.  The KCLL bats came alive with multiple line drives into the gaps. The inning was brought to a head by Aidan J who doubled to right center scoring two and bringing the score to 8-7 with a runner on second and 2 outs. Brock N hit a long drive to righ field, but the deep fly was caught for the third out and sealed the 8-7 Academy win.

KCLL Intermediate All Stars

July 6 -

KCLL held a very tough Colorado Springs team to just 1 run in the first inning.  However, the defense broke down as the game continued and KCLL lost to Colorado Springs.

July 7 -

After a rough start to the tournament, KCLL came back in game 2 with the eye of the tiger. Patrick B pitched 3+ plus innings followed by Wade T and Quinn G. They gave up runs, but the offense of KCLL just kept coming at Cherry Creek and after 7 full innings of baseball, KCLL had the victory, 23-13.

This is VERY FIRST TIME that a KCLL Intermediate team has won an All Star game!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!!!

July 8 -

High Plains jumped out to an early lead of 11-0. However, KCLL battled back all the way to tie up the game in the 3rd inning. But KCLL did not have enough pitching depth to hang on. KCLL fell to High Plains 23-13.

It was a great run by the Intermediates! High Plains advanced to the Championship game to play Colorado Springs and was again defeated.

Welcome to Ken-Caryl Little League

Welcome to Ken-Caryl Little League!

Ken-Caryl Little League is all about baseball. That's all we do. It's all we think about. We love the game and want every child to have this quintessential American experience.

Ken-Caryl Little League is part of Little League International - the same organization that brings you the Little League World Series.  Little League is the world's largest volunteer youth sports program with over 4 million volunteers worldwide. The program has been in existence for over 70 years and brings a wealth of experience and resources to our local chapter. See www.littleleague.org for more information.

SPRING SEASON

The Spring Season is our main baseball program.

We will begin the 2017 Spring Season with indoor practices/clinics starting in February. These indoor practices will be available once or twice per week, they will be organized by different age groups, and will be focused on developing the basic skills such as fielding, hitting, throwing, pitching, and catching. The February program will precede our team formation and is an optional "extra" for everyone registered for our Spring Season.

Teams will be formed the first week of March through a "player draft." The purpose of the draft is to create balanced teams that will play fun competitive games throughout the Spring season. We work hard to create parity between the teams and consider this to be one of the fundamental differences between our program and others in the area. We want to play a game - and enjoy the game - and make sure everyone gets an opportunity to play their best.

SPRING DIVISIONS

You can get additional details about the various division levels on our registration page. However, KCLL baseball programs are open to boys or girls aged 4 to 13.

Rookie League (Tee Ball) - this program is once per week (Saturday mornings) and offers our youngest ball players an opportunity to learn the basics of the game.

Farm League (Coach Pitch) - this program is for players aged 5-8 that are new to baseball. The program does not keep score or track wins/losses. We focus on the basic skills of throwing, catching, and hitting a baseball.

AA Division - this is the entry level "kid pitch" program. Players entering AA should be able to defend themselves from a thrown ball. It is a full baseball game - outs are recorded, score is kept, and we crown "champions" at the end of the season. Entry to this division is based on the skill of the player. However, players are typically aged between 6-9 years old.

AAA Division - this is the transitional level program that precedes the "elite" level of our Majors. Pitching distance is the same as our Majors Division and most of the same rules apply. It is designed for players that are ready to play at a strong, competitive level, but are not yet prepared for the speed of the Majors game level. Entry to this division is based on the skill of the player. However, players are typically aged between 9-11 years old.

Majors Division - this is the elite level program that plays by the full Little League rules. It is designed for the players that are ready to play a full competitive game. Entry to this division is based on the skill of the player. However, players are typically aged between 10-12 years old.

Intermediate Division - the Intermediate Division offers older players (aged 11-13) the opportunity to play in an advanced baseball program. Pitching distance is longer than in the Majors Division (50' instead of 46'). Base paths are longer (70' instead of 60'). And the competitive level is considerably higher. Games include both intra league play (conditional on KCLL rostering at least 2 teams) as well as many inter league games (e.g., other Denver area Little League programs). At this level, runners can lead off, balks are called on pitchers, and the speed of the game is much higher. ANY PLAYER AGED 11-13 CAN REGISTER in the Intermediate Division. But please realize that many players will be 13 years old and the competitive play will be high.

Dual Registration Opportunity: Majors + Intermediate - KCLL will offer all of our 11-12 year old Majors Division players the opportunity to play in BOTH the Majors and Intermediate Division levels. The second registration will include a modest additional registration fee. This opportunity is for those Majors players that want to play MORE baseball games and also want the experience of the heightened competitive play of the Intermediate Division games. In general, priority will be given to the Majors practices/games when conflicts occur. If you would like to really expand your baseball experience in 2017, consider the dual registration opportunity.

MORE QUESTIONS?

If you have questions about KCLL or any of the programs we offer, please feel free to contact Tom Newman at (303) 619-9810 or submit your question through the contact page on the website.

KEN-CARYL LITTLE LEAGUE is a community focused baseball program. We actively invest in the baseball fields at area schools. Over the years, KCLL has provided funding and efforts to improve fields at Community Park, Shaffer Elementary, Falcon Bluffs Middle School, Mortensen Elementary, and Columbine Hills Elementary. Your registration and sponsorships not only provide for a baseball experience for KCLL players, but also help to improve baseball fields and programs throughout our community.  KCLL has also donated used baseballs and equipment to both local programs and in the Dominican Republic.

We know you have a choice about which baseball program you choose. We very much appreciate your support of Ken-Caryl Little League.
