GOOD NEWS!!!

Congratulations to the high school spring sports teams who had a banner season.

The softball team won the North Carolina 2A state championship! This is the first state championship for Parkwood since the women's basketball team won the 1983 title.  The team overcame a first game loss in the best of 3 games series before winning twice against South Granville HS who was seeking their 3rd straight championship. The Rebels finished the season with a record of 27-3 and along the way won the Rocky River conference title as well as the tournament title.

The women's soccer team won their 2nd straight Rocky River conference title and advanced to the state quarterfinals before losing to eventual state finalist West Stokes. The team had an overall record of 18-4-3.

The men's and women's track teams made a huge splash this spring both winning the Rocky River conference titles as well as the North Carolina 2A midwest regional. The team qualified 19 for the state championship and finished with 3 athletes on the medal stand at the championship.

The Parkwood High School athletic department would like to thank the Booster Club for all their contributions which helped lead to the overwhelming athletic success during the 2016-17 school year.
