Summer Lacrosse Information

Hello Thompson Valley lacrosse families:

I hope that all of your summers are off to a great start! I know many of you are involved with club lacrosse teams or playing other sports this summer and that’s fantastic! I wanted to inform you what our lacrosse club will be offering, and I hope many of you will be able to participate. Summer lacrosse is the first phase of our off-season program as we build towards becoming a championship contender this spring. The summer program is a great way for our incoming freshman

to get to know the coaching staff, the older players, and to get a feel for how we organize practice and what we expect of our players. Anytime we have an opportunity to be out there on the field together working toward a common goal, I get excited and I hope many of you can participate. For those of you who have done this before, we’re using essentially the same format as we have the last two summers. There are TWO components to our summer program, which runs from July 10 through August 15; a calendar is attached.

(1) We practice at Conrad Ball Middle School from 4-6 pm on Tuesday and Thursday the first two weeks, and then on Tuesdays only the next three weeks. Our normal venue Walt Clark is getting their sprinklers fixed this summer so that resulted in a move to Conrad Ball. These practices will be run just like in-season practices led by the Thompson Valley Varsity coaching staff. The past two seasons we’ve had two scrimmages with Rocky Mountain High School lacrosse on Wednesdays and we have these tentatively scheduled again. However, Rocky has just gone through a coaching change so these may not come to fruition. I’ve also reached out to Boulder High School about potentially scrimmaging but we’re waiting to hear back.

To be a part of this portion of the summer program you’ll need to register online at The cost is $55.00.

(2) We’re again participating in the Elevation High School Summer Lacrosse League that is held at the upper athletic fields of Dawson School in Lafayette. Elevation games take place on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:00-6:30 pm. On Monday nights we’ll compete as a team against other high school teams, and Wednesday nights will be organized as pick-up games, where players who show up are divided as evenly as possible into teams, providing the opportunity to play with some different players. Wednesday nights will be players only; coaches will not attend. Players are responsible for their own transportation on both nights, and I strongly encourage setting up carpools. The link to register with Elevation is provided below and can be found on our website; the cost is $150.00.

The optimal situation is that players sign up for both components of the summer program, but players may sign up for either component to suit your family needs. If you’re going to go that route, we prefer that players participate in our summer practices at Conrad Ball. While not ideal, this is 100 percent understandable, please just communicate with me if you’re selecting this option. Don’t hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns. I’m very excited to see everyone and to meet some new faces as we begin to build toward 2019!
