My my My my
Langley High School Football Camp

Dear Spartan Families:

We wanted to let you know about an upcoming youth football camp being hosted by Langley Athletic Boosters and run by the Langley football coaches with help from some of our Spartan coaches.

The camp will be held on June 11-13 from 5 PM to 7:30 PM at Cooper Middle School.  This is a non-contact camp focused on teaching techniques and fundamentals.  This is a great opportunity for both experienced players and new players interested in playing football.

Additional information about the camp is available at the link below:

We hope to get as many Spartan players to the camp as possible, so please sign them up early.  We'd also ask that you spread the word to any youth who have not previously played football but who might be interested.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Steve Fredley, Commissioner

Spartan Football Mission

McLean-Great Falls Spartan Football’s mission is to teach the sport of football and the values and character traits it reinforces in a safe and fun environment.  These values and traits include dedication and hard work as the path to success, a refusal to give up, an attitude of personal confidence, and the sense of accomplishment that comes from achieving goals as a team.

The Spartans offer the opportunity for youth between the ages of 7 and 15 to compete against the other member clubs of the Fairfax County Youth Football League.  Our season begins in early August and runs through early November.  The Spartan program serves the communities of McLean, Great Falls, and Falls Church.

We are a member of USA Football and all of our coaches are certified in the Heads Up Tackle program.

Everyone participating in McLean-Great Falls Football must have a valid VA DMV ID card in hand for weigh-in.  No other form of ID is acceptable to the football's governing body - the Fairfax County Youth Football League (FCYFL).  This means the FCYFL will not accept birth certificates, military IDs, passports or any form of ID other than a VA DMV ID.

For our returning players this is a gentle reminder to check the expiration date on your current ID. Older versions of the ID expire after 5 years.  For our new players here is a link to the VA DMV website that explains how to obtain a VA DMV ID

Due to security issues, the VA DMV will not issue an ID at the time of application.  These IDs are mailed to your home and the process can take up to 2 weeks.
