New LL Bat Standards for 2018

Little League Families,

Please note that as of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use for the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018.

Little League® International has assembled an online resource page (link below) dedicated to baseball bat information, that includes the latest bat information, current Little League Baseball rules and regulations governing bats, definition of terms, the moratorium on the use of composite bats, and a series of frequently asked questions, with answers and licensed bat lists.  The standard does vary depending on division, so please make sure to follow the correct information.

Please be aware that all Tonawanda American Little League umpires, coaches, and Board members will be checking bats being used at practices and games and disallowing use of any bat that does not meet the new standard.  Tonawanda American Little League is aware of the burden this can place on families as new bats can be expensive and will be working with our local sponsors to make sure all house teams have a bat(s) that meet the standards put forth by Little League INternational and USA Baseball.

Thank you.
