Preseason Girls Coaches and Officials Meetings - March 3

March 3 is when the Badgerland girls lacrosse officials training and coaches meeting will take place, at Country View Elementary School in Verona, 710 Lone Pine Way.

Officials Training Day 9 AM - 4:30 PM
Rules Interpretation Meeting 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Coaches Meeting 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Training will be conducted by Doug Silber, the Chair-Elect of the Baltimore, Maryland officials board, which officiated the top high school and club teams in the nation. He was selected by the Maryland State Public Schools Athletic Association to be part of the officiating crew for the 2017 Maryland State High school championship game. He officiates at the highest Collegiate and High School levels.

Spring 2018 Registration Open - All Programs

Madison Eastside Lacrosse Association is accepting registrations for the Spring 2018 season for high school boys, high school girls and youth boys.  Please see the melax.org registration page for additional details regarding the programs, fees, multi-player discounts and other required information needed to complete registration.  

All registration forms and fees can be completed on-line this year with the exception of team specific uniform fees or deposits.  For on-line registration questions, please email madison.eastside.lax@gmail.com.

Boys Youth Lacrosse Official Training

Interested in becoming a boys youth lacrosse official?  Annual classroom training will be held on:

  • Sunday, February 25 from 12pm-4pm at Rocky Rococo Pizza-West, 7952 Tree Lane, Madison, WI 
  • Sunday, March 4 from 1pm-5pm at Evco Plastics, 100 W. North St. Deforest, WI  

Please note:   Attendance is required at both 4 hour classroom sessions as well as an "on-field" training session (Time and location yet to be determined) to become a certified boys youth lacrosse official. Food will be provided to officials at the classroom sessions.

Anyone is welcome to come and audit the training sessions. All officials will be required to pay a training fee before the end of the last classroom training session. The fee is not yet determined, however, it is expected to be around $45.  

The requirements for officiating boys youth lacrosse games are as follows:

1) Attend both classroom sessions
2) Attend an on-field training session
3) Be at least a sophomore in high school
4) Be an active US Lacrosse member
5) Pass the on-line US  Lacrosse official's certification exams

Anyone that is interested in becoming a youth official for 2018, please email Jeremy Sullivan at   by February 15.  Include name, phone number, age, and years officiating in the email.

Becoming an Official

There is a huge need for lacrosse officials for this growing sport.  See Badgerland Lacrosse for details around age requirements, expectations and game fees.  Clinics for new officials are usually held between mid-February and early March. See Badgerland Lacrosse to be added to the contact list for upcoming clinics.

2018 Winter Girls Open Gyms

The Madison Eastside High School Girls team will be offering Open Gyms this winter.

Location: Sennett Middle School gym from 7-8:30 p.m.

Dates: 1/26 through 2/9. 

This is open to high school girls in the LaFollette, East and Monona Grove School Districts.  Contact Kris Graham if you would like more information.
