Holiday Evening Hours at the LS School Store

The LS school store will be open for holiday hours on Thursday, December 6th, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. We have sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, hats, blankets, and much more. These items make great holiday gifts for your Warrior! Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted at this event. This is the night of the choral concert, so come early!
The store is located next to the cafeteria in the AB connector. Regular hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 11:00 & 12:30. No credit cards are accepted during these hours.

Letter Jacket Fitting Day: Thursday, December 13
The varsity letter jacket fitting day will be on December 13th from 11:00-12:30 at the LS school store. Representatives from Graphic Connection will be available so students can stop by during lunch to try on different options and have jackets custom sized if needed. Orders can be placed that day for convenience or we can note your size and provide an order form for a future order. Cost is $224.00 (plus $6.00 for custom length).

Coaches & Captains Meeting
We had a great turnout at the annual LS Boosters Coaches and Captains meeting in October! Each October LS Boosters invites the coaches and captains of all LS athletic teams to gather input on funding requirements for the coming school year. The Boosters organization uses this input and direction from the Athletic Director to direct our grants each year.
We would like to thank all involved in making the 10th annual L-S Boosters Ski and Sports sale a huge success. The sale would not be possible without the help of so many. A huge shout out to the Martindale's for their generous contribution of the Field House as the venue. Thank you to the many Lincoln-Sudbury sports teams and the many parent volunteers who cleaned and tagged thousands of items and worked at the sale. So many there last night, both young and old, were attending a game at Gillette for the first time. It was only because of the hard work of this team over a long season that they had this opportunity. We love ALL of our athletes, champions or not, all sports all levels, AND this community loved the chance to cheer on these players right until the end. Congratulations on a wonderful season and best of luck as you move on to your winter sport, your break, your academic push, or whatever it is that comes next for you! We are all L-S Warriors!

On Saturday, September 23rd, hundreds of community members joined us for our annual Ski & Sports Sale. For days leading up to the event, each athletic team put in time to volunteer - either cleaning, sorting or pricing donations from across the community. At the end of Saturday, it was clear that we had hosted another wonderful event, raising around $10,000 for our athletic programs at the club, freshman, JV and Varsity levels. Requests will be made by Captains and Coaches for training equipment, tournament fees, audio and video equipment, etc. when they gather with the Board in October.

Could you hear the cheering last Friday night? Those were the sounds of fans watching the L-S football team win their home opener. They were also the sounds we hope to hear all year long as we cheer on all L-S Athletes and watch them do what they love. Being a student athlete at L-S is so much more than learning to play a sport; it is the bedrock for important life lessons and the catalyst for lifelong friendships. It is why we do what we do.

Ski & Sports Sale: Donate your well-loved athletic gear and purchase someone else's well-loved athletic gear! Join us for this wonderful community event - bring your donations to the Field House, Chiswick Park in Sudbury between 10:00 - 6:00 on Thursday, September 21st and Friday, September 22nd where volunteers will clean them and display them for sale at the same location on Saturday, 9/23 between 9:00am and Noon. Find all you need to outfit an athlete for the coming season including anything and everything that is in acceptable shape to be used by someone else. Items would typically fully outfit an athlete including pads, skates, cleats, helmets, sticks, rackets, pucks, balls, bats and gloves. The Boosters also accept donations of bikes, gym equipment, backyard games, and duffel bags to clean up and sell.

Wednesday, June 21st will be the last day to purchase a brick as a way of honoring someone who has had an impact on LSRHS or on whom LSRHS has had an impact! That's all of us!
The L-S Brick Campaign has provided parents an opportunity to honor their graduates, teammates an opportunity to honor their coaches, and students an opportunity to honor their teachers. Other recipients have included alumni, parents and the military. The L-S Boosters Board has had so much fun reading the tributes on each and every brick order received to date; they range from fun, to serious, to simple and not, but every one is meaningful for the person honored. Over 200 bricks have been installed in the courtyard outside of the gyms at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and more are set for installation this summer.

LS varsity coaches and captains meet with the LS Boosters to submit funding requests for the 2016-2017 school year. The Boosters organization contributes approximately $70,000 each year to LS athletic programs.
The L-S Boosters donated $108,732 to L-S Athletics in 2015, which is the second highest amount donated since our founding in 1991. The resurfacing of the high school track was a major capital project in 2015 and we contributed $55,000 for this. Here is a resource to review L-S Boosters grants by year.

1) Joey Carroll
Joey has been described as a cross between George Carlin and Dennis Miller. His no holds barred style has won him the respect of his fellow comedians and the laughter of his audiences. Joey Carroll’s comedy has taken him around the world. He has been invited to use his sharp wit and flawless comic timing for a third tour bringing much needed laughter to our troops around the world. He has just released his latest CD from his last tour to Iraq. Most recently Joey Carroll was a stand out act at the Boston Comedy Festival.
2) Steve Guilmette
Steve Guilmette brings a raucous wit and an everyman’s sensibility to the National comedy scene. Steve’s act has received a warm and enthusiastic response from audiences throughout the country. Steve was chosen and has competed in the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival. Steve has performed at Wiseguys Comedy Club in NY, Turning Stone Casino in NY, Captain Brien's "Off the Hook Comedy Club" in Marco Island FL, Bananas Comedy Clubs in NY and NJ, The Comedy Connection (Boston, MA & Portland, ME), Nick's Comedy Stop (Boston, MA), The Comedy Studio (Boston, MA), Remington's "Beantown Comedy Vault" (Boston, MA), The Charles Playhouse (Boston, MA), and many other venues in and around the United States. 3) Jody Sloane
For the past thirteen years Jody has honed her skills as a “sit down” comic working as a “Conducktor” for Boston Duck Tours. She created and developed her tour guide persona; Penny Wise, a tongue-in-cheek, saucy, southern belle. She has performed before an audience over 4000 times and still packs a fresh punch! Four years ago Jody took a “stand” bringing her act to venues throughout New England. She has been a three time contestant in the Boston Comedy Festival and Finalist in the Funniest Comic in New Hampshire Contest. Impishly perverse, her style is thoughtful, yet edgy; touching on age, divorce, and being raised by wolves. She’ll have you convinced that in the darkest corners of truth is comedy
Join us for the Lincoln-Sudbury All Sports Boosters Homecoming Bonfire on Wednesday November 26 from 6 pm - 7:30 pm. This event is open to the entire Lincoln and Sudbury communities including families, L-S Alumni and L-S Students. Listen to live music performed by L-S student bands and enjoy hot chocolate, pizza and snacks.
This year, the bonfire will be located at the west end of the L-S parking lot near the tennis courts. (There is no rain date. If the weather is questionable, check the L-S Boosters website for cancelation)

Sport Parents: Help Maximize Your Child's Potential

“The Sport Parent: Helping Your Child Maximize His or Her Potential.”
On Wednesday, September 17th the L-S Athletic Department will welcome sports psychologist, Dr. Greg Dale, from Duke University. Parents of athletes from kindergarten through high school are encouraged to attend this event. We will begin at 6:30 pm in various rooms throughout L-S where coaches from our twenty-nine athletic programs will hold open houses. At 7 pm everyone will gather in the auditorium for a presentation from Dr. Dale, “The Sport Parent: Helping Your Child Maximize His or Her Potential.”
Gregory A. Dale, Ph.D. is a Professor of Sport Psychology and Sport Ethics at Duke University. He is also the Director of the Sport Psychology and Leadership Programs for Duke Athletics. In addition to his work with Duke athletes and coaches, Greg consults with numerous college and professional athletes and teams.

The L-S All Sports Boosters Club is proud to announce that its Reach A Million Campaign is a success! The Boosters organization has now donated more than $1 million to athletic programs at Lincoln-Sudbury High School.
To celebrate this milestone, L-S All Sports Booster President Wendy Casey presented a check for $1,000,000 to Lincoln-Sudbury High School Athletic Director Peter Elenbaas. Joining in the celebration of this achievement are former L-S Athletic Director Nancy O’Neil, former L-S Booster Presidents Debbie Hannigan, Dick Hayden, Dave McCormick, Roy Sanford and Ralph Spuehler, who originated the Reach a Million Campaign.
