McLean Youth Volleyball MYV provides house, select and travel volleyball programs for Elementary School, Middle School, and High School athletes in the greater McLean Virginia VA area including Great Falls, Falls Church, Arlington, Vienna, Fairfax, Reston
Registration for the Boys Volleyball Fall 2018 is now open. Use the following link to register.
Last year, over 160 boys had a blast playing in the program. We're expecting an even bigger turnout this year.
The goal of McLean-Vienna (MV)Power Boys Volleyball is to provide boys with the opportunity to learn, play and enjoythe sport of volleyball in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment. It encourages all those interested, regardless of experience/ability, to join and have a great time playing with friends and classmates. If you don't already know how to play volleyball, we will teach you.
Here are the leagues available this season:
5th-6th Grade – Elementary School League
7th-8th Grade – Middle School League
9th-12th Grade – (High School boys play in the separateNorthern Virginia High School Boys Volleyball League (NVHSBVL) with teams representing McLean HS, Langley HS, Madison HS, Marshall HS and other local high schools. Contact Commissioner for details)
MVPower teams play in the wider NoVA Boys Volleyball League which has teams from the following programs:
McLean/Vienna/Great Falls/Falls Church – MVPower Boys (MYA) Volleyball
The MVPower commitment is student friendly and multi-sport friendly:
1.5 weeks of free instructional clinics at the beginning of the season to develop or refresh core volleyball skills such as passing, setting, hitting and serving
1 team practice per week (1.5 hrs) on a weekday in a Vienna or McLean gym
1 league match per week (1 hr) on Saturdays against other boys teams
Practice days, times and locations are determined by coaches (a good reason to volunteer to coach) – during registration players can identify preferred days, times and locations
To support carpooling, teams are typically formed around friend-requests and school affiliations.
The program is open to all interested boys, not just those living in McLean and Vienna
Parents: Please consider coaching -- it is a great way to be part of your son’s exposure and positive experience with the sport. Prior coaching and volleyball playing experience are a plus, but not required -- training, mentoring and supporting materials are provided by MVPower Boys Volleyball.
Please forward this message to anyone you believe would be interested in participating in this great sport.

Help Bring Sand Volleyball to the Spring Hill RECenter
Good News. McLean Youth Volleyball is partnering with the Spring Hill RECenter to build two (2) SAND VOLLEYBALL COURTS on the RECenter property. The planned location will be in the open field adjacent to the pool sun deck and baseball diamond.
This is an exciting development that will bring high quality sand courts to the community and open up options for additional McLean Youth Volleyball programs. Sand Volleyball is already a popular Olympic sport and currently the fastest growing NCAA sport, expanding 10% annually.
The goal is to raise about $25K through private donations that the Fairfax County Park Authority will match with public funds. The target is to raise the amount by March 2019 so the courts can be built and ready by the summer of 2019.
Congratulations to all 720 athletes (630 MYA) and 190 (175 MYA) volunteer coaches who made the MYV spring 2018 season a huge success. There were 72 teams including 6 from Vienna (2 MS Select, 4 9th-12th Grade) 2 from Falls Church City (6th & 7th Grades) and one from Cyburi VBC (6th Grade).
Photos of the season can be found on the following Google Photo site.
