New Residency Rules for 2016 Benefits School of Choice
by posted 01/04/2016

Little League International, the governing body of Little League, has changed their residency rule for the 2016 season. Beginning this season a person is eligible to play in a local league if they live inside of the league boundaries, or if they attend school inside a league's boundaries. That means ALL Northview students are now eligible to play Northview Little League.

In the previous rules the only eligibility requirement was the player's residence and what league boundary that residence was within. This former rule affected many School of Choice students who attend Northview Schools, but did not live inside the district.

Northview Little League boundaries are the same as the Northview Public Schools boundaries, so any student who attends a Northview School building can play with their friends and classmates in the Northview Little league.

A link to the Little League International webpage announcing the rule change is available here http://www.littleleague.org/learn/rules/rulechanges/2014_Rule_Changes/Residence_Eligibility_Requirements_and_Regulation_II.htm

DW Improvements Thanks to Meijer and Plainfield Township
by posted 02/09/2014

Divisions playing at DW Richardson Park will notice some improvements being made to the park this season. Thanks to a generous donation from Meijer, as well as Plainfield Township, we will be installing outfield fencing to enclose Fields A and B this Spring. We will also have a couple new portable scoreboards to use for games at DW Richardson.

The fence of Field A will be approximately the same distance as Field C, 170-175 feet from home plate. This field will be used for softball and low Minors baseball. The fencing on Field B will be installed at 200 feet from home plate. The existing park perimeter fence is 175 feet down the left field line on Field B. The new fencing will begin in left center field and will enclose that field at 200 feet. This will allow us to have some Majors baseball games at this field. It will also allow us to schedule Majors baseball tournament games at our facility with restrooms and concessions.

Also look for increased options, hours and availability at the DW concession stand, located around the walkway by the restrooms/picnic area, this season

Earn Extra Money by Umpiring
by posted 01/12/2013

Earn yourself a little extra money by umpiring little league games.

To register as an umpire, please fill out the Umpire registration found in the Register Now button. Umpires are needed for boy's baseball and girl's softball. Game assignments are made by the league's umpire director based on experience and availability.

If you are new to umpiring, but would like to learn, umpiring clinics are available through our affiliation with District 9 Little League.

If you would like more information, please contact Northview Little League Umpire Director Kirk VanderLaan at .
