Oregon Park Families,

 

Player’s skills assessment is scheduled for next Saturday, January 20th, 2018 with a rain out date on January 27th, 2018. 

 

DBATs will be present with the new USA bats to use during tryouts.

 

Walk-in Registration will be available during skills assessment for any age group that still has space available.

 

The concession stand will be open, however we will only be selling candy and drinks.  There will be a limited amount of Chick-fil-A biscuits in the morning. 

 

***If you are new to Oregon Park and did not upload a birth certificate please make sure to bring a copy to the skills assessment.  Each field will have a check in station where age group representatives will verify the birth certificates.  We will not keep any copies of the birth certificates.

 

**Tballers do not participate in skills assessment.

Spring 2018 Registration Information

Oregon Park Baseball is for children age 4 to 12 years of age by April 30, 2018.

The registration fee is as follows:

Age 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 $165

Age 9, 10 $185

Age 11/12 $190

Early Bird Discount of $25.00 will be applied for anyone registering prior to December 22nd.

Late Fee of $25.00 will be applied for anyone registering after January 6th.

Cobb County Fees: A $10.00 In County Fee or a $15.00 Out of County Fee will be added to your charge and paid directly to Cobb County parks and recreation.

Included in the registration fee is a shirt, hat, pants, socks and belt (belted pants for 6U-12U league only) for each child. If a team chooses to add names to the shirt, this is an additional expense. Your child will need a glove, helmet with a cage, cleats, and bat.

Bat Rules: Dizzy Dean Georgia has adopted the USA bat standard for the spring 2018 season. All bats used this spring must have the USA logo or be wood. Any and all bats used at the 6U – 12U age levels must comply with Dizzy Dean regulations. The official rule can be found online at http://dizzydeanbbinc.org/pdf_forms/ybbcor_bat_standards_2018.pdf. Any bat used in a game must have an easily identifiable USA stamp/logo certifying the bat as an approved bat. Wood bats can be used in lieu of USA bat standards.

Refunds: All refund checks will be processed and mailed the week of March 5th. 100% refund until January 19th, 50% from January 20th to February 1st. Zero refund after February 1st. Please send your request to questions@oregonpark.com.

Schedule: You will have a schedule when you are assigned a team the first week of February. You will be given 2 time slots per week. Times will be either 6pm or 7:15 or 7:30. Two practices will begin the week of February 5th with games starting March 5th with two games per week - one game during the week and one on Saturday. Your coach may or may not schedule additional practices either at OP or another facility. There will not be scheduled games during Spring break and the end of season tournament will begin the first week of May.

Skill Assessment: We will hold a skill assessment for all ages except Tee Ball on January 20th. The rain date is January 27th. Tball does not participate in skills assessment. The times will be posted to www.oregonpark.com closer to the assessment date.

Playing UP League: If you are interested in your child playing up an age group, you must submit a written request. Please send the request to the Athletic Director, current Age Group Coordinator, and the Age Group Coordinator you wish your child to be part of by January 19th, 2018. Determination is based on skill level during skill evaluation.

Picture Day: Picture Day is tentatively set for Saturday, March 10th (or Monday, March 12th if you have an early Saturday game). Pictures will be taken at Boots Ward by Lost Mt. Park.

Concession Stand: The concession stand is open all game days/nights. The concession stand is not open during practice days/nights. There will be a board member on duty at all times in the concession stand.

Trophies: The first and second place tournament winners will be awarded a trophy. Teams may choose to purchase their own trophy.

Parking: Oregon Park is a Cobb County Park and the Oregon Park Baseball Association does NOT have any control over the parking or parking lot. DO NOT PARK in red lined areas or on the grass. It is necessary for emergency vehicles to be able to use the space and it is enforced by Cobb County.

Field Conditions: Please sign up on the website for email alerts for field closings. The website will automatically generate an email or text (provided you have signed up to receive them during the registration process) any time a practice/game is canceled due to field conditions/weather. If the field is closed do not use any part of the field, infield or outfield.
