Concord-Carlisle Youth Lacrosse offers an instructional lacrosse program for which no prior experience is necessary. We concentrate on the development of individual skills and fundamental game concepts.

Concord-Carlisle BOYS Program Summary

Note - volunteers are needed for all grades as coaches, organizers, game day helpers, etc.  

1st & 2nd Grade – CCYL IN-House                                               

  • Players are divided into grade based groups
  • Fun, safe skill building practices
  • Practices will start the week after April vacation
  • Teams practice 1x per week for 1 hour - at CCHS grass field with the WALL
    • Friday nights from 6 - 7 pm.  Time may change or extend as the season progresses with the light
    • Coach may coordinate a game day with another town or 2 at the end of the season
  • 1 - 2 practices will be a Varsity Mentor day for Grades 1 and 2.  
  • Registration is open 11/1/2017 and stays open until the clinic program is over.

3rd & 4th Grades - Town Pride League (TPL), Small Ball Division

  • Participate in the TPL North division.  Will not have to travel to the South Shore for any games at this age
  • Smaller field & fewer players on the field (7v7).
  • Players are divided into grade - based divisions: a 3rd Grade Division & a 4th Grade Division.
  • Two practices per week
    • Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 - 7:15 time may extend as the season progresses with the light
    • Practice located on CCHS grass field with the WALL
  • TPL games on Sundays.
  • Registration opens 11/1/2017 and ends 12/31/2017
  • Will Try to coordinate an in town scrimmage during halftime of a Varsity Home game
  • 4th Grade team will play at halftime of a Boston Cannons game on Harvard Stadium

 5th, 6th, & 7th Grade - Town Pride League (TPL), Full Field Division

  • Season starts mid-March (early practices dependent on severity of the winter)
  • Participate in the TPL.
  • Players are to wear their total uniform to every game and jersey to practice
    • Players are not to wear any travel team uniforms/shooter shirts or helmets (top or bottom) to practices and games
  • Players are divided into three, grade - based divisions: a 5th Grade Division, a 6th Grade Division & a 7th Grade Division.
  • One team per grade will play in the TPL - A Division and one team per grade will play in the TPL - B Division.
  • Players are placed on either the A Team** or the B Team for their respective grades based on the following: coaches evaluations, 3rd party evaluations, & demonstrated commitment to the sport of lacrosse.
  • 5th,6th and 7th grades will practice 2x per week.
    • Monday and Wednesday evenings for 75-90 minutes - detail time to be determined in the Spring
    • Practice will be on Turf 1 or Memorial Stadium
  • 5th, 6th and 7th grades will play their games on Sundays.  
  • All 5th, 6th, & 7th Grade teams will participate in the TPL Tournament which is held approximately the first 2 weeks of June.  Games will be played on weekdays and weekends (potentially). 
  • Registration opens 11/1/2017 and ends 12/31/2017
  • 2 referee's per game for better enforcement of rules and keeping control of games 
  • Will try to participate and/or host a Friday Night Lights game 1x for grade 5, 6 and 7

8th Grade - Town Pride League (TPL), High School Prep Division

  • Season starts mid-March (early practices dependent on severity of the winter)
  • Participate in the TPL.
  • One team will play in the TPL - A Division and one team will play in the TPL - B Division.
  • Players are to wear their total uniform to every game and jersey to practice
    • Players are not to wear any travel team uniforms (top or bottom) to games
  • Players are placed on either the A Team** or the B Team based on the following: coaches evaluations, 3rd party evaluations, & demonstrated commitment to the sport of lacrosse.
  • 8th grade will practice 2x per week.
    • Monday and Wednesday evenings for 75-90 minutes - detail time to be determined in the Spring
    • Practice will be on Turf 1 or Memorial Stadium
    • If possible (field wise) at the beginning of the season we will have a 3rd practice - situational practice like riding, clearing man-up and man-down
  • TPL league games are on Sunday.  
  • We will try to coordinate at least 1 Friday Night Lights game
  • All 8th Grade teams will participate in the TPL Tournament which is held approximately the first 2 weeks of June.  Games will be played on weekdays and weekends (potentially).  

**The rosters for the A Teams are built through selective tryouts.  Participation on the A Teams come with the following expectations:

  1. Attend all practices and games, prioritizing lacrosse as their primary sport during the spring season.
  2. Players are expected to arrive at all practices and games on time and stay for the duration.
  3. Proper attitude and effort is expected.

**After placements, CCYL reserves the right to reassign a player to the A or B Team at the coaches discretion.  Potential reasons for assignment are, but not limited to, performance, attitude, attendance, effort.
