Spring 2018 Coaches FAQ
 
Thank you for your interest in coaching!
 

3 pre-season "must-do's"
 
#1 - Sign up to coach (all coaches must do this):
 
#2 - Email your team ASAP once rosters are set (head coaches):
  • Introduce yourself and cover important points for the season (practice dates/locations, team expectations, etc):
  • Early (and frequent) communication is vital for ensuring happy parents!
 
#3 - Get a team manager ASAP (head coaches):
  • When you first email your team, ask for a volunteer for Team Manager (to send out team emails, coordinate snacks, etc)
  • Once you have a volunteer, email their name/email address to   and ask to have them assigned as your team manager
 

 
Equipment:
  • Teams will be provided with balls, ball bags, cones, etc
  • If your goalie doesn't have goalie gear, we'll provide a goalie stick, chest protector, and throat guard
 
Coaching stipends:
  • Number of coaches/team:
    • 1 Head coach (paid)
    • 1 Asst coach (paid)
    • Volunteer Asst coaches (unpaid)
  • Coaching stipends:
    • Dads:
      • Head coach – $335 (cost of player registration fee)
      • Asst coach - $170 (½ the cost of player registration fee)
    • Non-Dads:
      • Head coach - $500
      • Asst coach - $250
    • Volunteers:
      • Volunteers will be reimbursed the cost of their US Lacrosse membership and coaches training

Cancelling games/practices due to weather or poor field conditions:
  • Practices:
    • If the city cancels the fields, we'll send out a cancellation email to all players, parents, and coaches
    • If you don't get a cancellation notice from us, it's left to your discretion whether or not to cancel. If you decide to cancel, you must send a cancellation email out to your team ASAP
  • Games (home):
    • If the city cancels the fields, we'll send out a cancellation email to all players, parents, and coaches of both teams
    • If you don't get a cancellation notice from us, it's left to your discretion whether or not to cancel. If you decide to cancel, you must send out a cancellation email ASAP to all of the following:
      • Your team
      • The head coach of your opponent (click here for master list of head coaches)
      • The CYLA (Tyler Doskins,  303.575.1902)
      • Vipers youth director (Marty Drybread,  , 970-214-4679)
  • Note: If we tear up our fields, the city will limit our ability to rent fields in the future
