“How to Raise Successful Kids – Without Over-Parenting”
TED Talk screening and discussion
Tracey Masella, LCSW
Silver Hill Hospital
Wednesday, January 24, 2018
Join us to view Julie Lythcott-Haims’ popular TED Talk on parental expectations and unconditional love.  The video will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Tracey Masella.  Tracey will help us understand how to stop over-parenting and help our children develop resilience.
Resilience is the ability to manage adversity, to pick ourselves up after we have fallen down.  In our communities, children are often rescued before they fall; our children are deprived of the opportunity to learn how to handle distress. We will discuss how to create a safe and effective family frame in which children learn to manage their lives effectively.
This presentation is appropriate for parents with children of all ages.
** A follow up book discussion will be held on February 28 at 10:00 AM at the Wilton Library.  Minimum of 15 registrants required for program to run. **
