TEYSA offers intramural soccer for players in kindergarten through 12th grade. Players must be 5 years old or older by the start of the fall season. There is no residency requirement. Currently rostered travel soccer players are not eligible to participate in our intramural program.
Age Groups/Team Placement
The fall season consists of single sex teams for all grade levels. Separate conferences are formed for grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. For boys, conferences are then grouped by (a) 5th and 6th graders; (b) 7th and 8th graders; and (c) 9th through 12th graders. For girls, conferences are grouped by (a) 5th and 6th graders; and (b) 7-12th graders. Variations to these groupings may occur depending on registration numbers.
Our volunteer conference managers work very hard to form teams that are balanced by skill level, while still trying to place some classmates or neighbors on the same team. Given the number of players and the many variables that go into team formation, we do not honor requests to play with friends or to be assigned to a specific coach. Requests for exceptions to this policy should be sent to
. Failing to demonstrate need, rather than convenience or preference, will not be approved.
The Fall season begins in late August or early September, and concludes by mid-November, depending on grade level. Teams from kindergarten through sixth grade will practice once per week and play one game per week on Saturday. The practice night depends on what evening your coach selects. The practice will last about one hour and will begin between 5:30pm and 6:30pm depending on your coach. Games last between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on the grade your child is in. All practices and home games take place on T/E School District or Township fields.
For grades 7-12 there are no practices, only games. The games take place on Saturdays and sometimes on a Sunday. Away games may be played at West Chester, Malvern, or Radnor.
Our purpose is to provide all youngsters who love soccer a chance to play. Players who are in need of financial assistance should send an email to Chris Rossi,
. All requests for financial assistance will be kept confidential.
